Lulu – winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 1969 – and Jessica Mauboy, Australian interval act at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 will share the stage at the closing ceremony of the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

The duo will be joined by a host of stars including headline closing act Kylie Minogue for the handover to Gold Coast of Australia.

Lula also headlined concerts on Glasgow Green which coincided with and celebrated the Opening Ceremony on 23rd July. The ‘Boom Bang-A-Bang’ singer has had a career spanning six decades and was part of the panel that eventually selected Jade Ewen to represent the United Kingdom in Moscow in 2009.

Mauboy performed a specially written composition ‘Sea of Flags’ as the centrepiece of the Australian interval act at the Second Semi-Final of the 59th Eurovision in Copenhagen this year.

I’d almost bet that once again, Sea of Flags will be used in the closing ceremony.
The Austrailians are reallyn pushing Jessica onto us Europeans, but hey, I like her, she has an amazing voice and looks stunning.
I will be watching!
