Greece knows how to do summer better than any country out there. So it’s only natural that some of its most recent Eurovision entries have brought the feel-good sunshine to Eurovision, including “OPA!“, “Rise Up“, and “Yassou Maria“. And then there was Loukas Giorkas’ “Watch My Dance“—a dark and dramatic number blending rap and some Greek dram-uh. Wasn’t no sunshine, y’all. Now, with his new single “Mia Akóma Voutiá”, Loukas is finally giving us some heat and some music we can play while we get our bronze on. Treat yourself to a few golden rays and a few golden notes:
Even though the song is called “One More Plunge”, this certainly isn’t a low-point in the Greek hunk’s career (unlike some other summery bands that have reached that point). It screams “summer song”: light, easy listening that channels upbeat feelings. This will not be one of Loukas’ biggest career hits, but after not hearing much from him for a while, it’s nice to know he’s still going strong.
