So we’re about to start into another week, and yes, the “Ice Bucket Challenge” is still a thing. Dozens of Eurovision celebs have already met their icy destiny, but there are still plenty more willing to follow suit. And with the likes of Roman Lob and Dima Bilan opting to go topless, it’s very hard to complain.

Igor Cukrov (Croatia 2009)

While most have embraced the challenge, Croatia’s 2009 entrant has decided to pour cold water over the campaign rather than himself.

Igor Cukrov Anti Ice Bucket Challenge Message
Talking about this “ice bucket challenge”, it is unbelievable how nonsense can spread in a moment in which all is given to importance. It’s not that I have anything against it, but in the world full of marvels in one hand, and collapse in another, collective mind-numbing silence in one hand is a crime against the things that are happening now, and highlighting nonsenses as this spilling of the same potency. Popular persons should contribute to inform masses and enlight, and not to support this stupid system that is part of some dirty game. Tragedy multiplies tragedy. Never mind. Sorry.

It’s controversial, but do y’all agree?

What is the “Ice Bucket Challenge”?

For those of you who’ve been living in a social media vacuum, the “Ice Bucket Challenge” was started by the American ALS Association in July to raise awareness of the degenerative and incurable ALS or motor neurone disease, the campaign has completely snowballed over the last week, as more and more people get involved. The challenge involves participants recording themselves pour large quantities of water and ice over their heads, posting the clip online, and then nominating others to complete the challenge within 24 hours, while making a charitable donation.

@Hebbuzz the thing is, celebrities should be using their popularity for a good cause, nobody would’ve paid the same attention to this thing if celebrities didn’t jump in the bandwagon. Even if they do it partially to promote themselves, fact is, if because of that more people pay attention to the issue and donate to the cause then I say is a good thing in the long run.

You have to be pretty skeptical to think that it’s not a good thing for ALS donations to skyrocket the way they are right now. This phenomenon would not have happened without the Ice Bucket Challenge. It’s indeed become one of the most effective modern byways for soliciting charity donations, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it provides a framework whereby other charity causes can become widely known and financially boosted.

A bucket of ice-cold water is precisely what Igor needs.

I agree with Igor, most ) ‘famous’ people only do this ice thingy because they can get some attention. It’s free advertisement. If I were famous I would anynomously donate money and would make a song/videoclip instead of this stupid ‘see how cool I am pooring warm water over my cap with three icecubes in it’. This is NOT about the disease or the patients, this is purely to gloryfy oneself, in most cases.

the bravest of them all is Dima.. water with snow and four buckets brrrr….. and i definitely don’t agree with Igor… i don’t know for citizens in General but celebrities know why this happens and they have the Money and they donate))

I don’t fully get exactly what Igor was trying to say, it kinda confused me, but I guess he’s calling the challenge a nonsense?
I have the impression he doesn’t know exactly what this whole thing is about, how can raising funds to find a cure for a disease, specially one as terrible as ALS be a “nonsense”? I guess many people think that, but those people only see a bunch of people pouring buckets of water over themselves and don’t see beyond that.
