If you follow Alexander Rybak on Instagram and Facebook, you may have realised that he was busy in Malta over the weekend. We can now reveal that he wasn’t just here to soak up the sun…

We’ve contacted our sources on the sunny island and have learned that Alexander—the “Fairytale” singer who won Eurovision 2009—was here to collaborate with Franklin Calleja, one of Malta’s rising stars. As you’ll recall, he has participated in the Maltese national final for the past two years.

Franklin rose to fame after winning the local singing contest “Don’t Stop Me Now” in 2012. After his win, he became a household name by performing regularly on one of Malta’s most-watched TV programmes, which eventually lead to the Malta Eurovision Song Contest finals.

From what we can gather, Franklin and Alexander had quite a busy weekend in the studio. Franklin tells us that Alexander is a “very humble and professional artist in every way”. Are they working on a national final song? Well, we don’t know yet. What we do know is that everyone in Malta seems to be pulling out all the stops for Eurovision 2015 in Vienna.

You can follow Franklin Calleja on Facebook and on Instagram.

I don’t think this song will be for Eurovision, but you never know it with Alexander. He also wrote a song for Rui Andrade. Earlier he said that he was writing a song for his native country Belarus. And I don’t think Alexander will try out at two countries at the same time. But we will learn more about it later.
