Super Hot Cosmos Blues Band, who lost to Tanja in this year’s Eesti Laul, have released a new single entitled “Yeah!” The song stays true to their country-rock style (with vocals influenced by Bruce Springsteen and Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder). Unfortunately this lacks the appeal of their Eesti Laul entry, and is best described as rock elevator music.

The only Estonian band with a prominent Americana sound, Super Hot Cosmos Blues Band have lost their way. I was listening and waiting for the buildup. But, SPOILER ALERT: there is none. Why on Earth is there a bunch of distracting whistling in the background? And same with the children’s choir towards the end of the song. Perhaps it was meant to distract us from a rather boring song?

Disagreed here. This is a pretty well written rock song. Yeah, a little bit more work with dynamics or emphasis could’ve boosted the songwriting, but what else is new. Much better than maybe-maybe, which really was a sleeper.
