Swedish comedian Petra Mede co-hosted Kristallen last night in Sweden. Kristallen is Sweden’s television awards ceremony and was created by five Swedish broadcasters in 2005.

Mede hosted the event alongside fellow comedian David Hellenius, actor Malin Gramer, musician Kalle Moraeus and Olympic Silver Medallist Johan Petersson.

Kristallen celebrated its tenth anniversary this year. Previous winners include Gina Dirawi (who hosted Melodifestivalen 2012 and 2013) and André Pops (Swedish spokesperson in 2007). Both of them also hosted Kristallen 2013. Melodifestivalen has been nominated several times for the best entertainment program, but has yet to win (only a matter of time…).

Petra Mede will be familiar to Eurovision fans for her star turn hosting the 58th Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö in 2013. She proved you don’t need help (and when people try it can backfire…) to host a contest and that sometimes one presenter is better than three.
