Who said popping and locking was dead? After leaving us over the summer to work on summer trends and try to twerk to “Slavica”, the dynamic Polish duo have been busy working on their debut album. As part of that they have released another single called “Ten Czas” (“This Time”) featuring Kamil Bednarek. And while there isn’t yet an explicit video or released lyrics (all we get is an album cover with a slightly terrifying picture of Cleo), there is some musical variety. We’ll alert y’all when the lyrics and their appropriate translation are posted, but for now chew on this!
Cleo and Donatan made a name in Ethno-Hip-Hop and have given it a more modern aesthetic. So hearing a song that is both true to their electronic roots as well as branching into sub-genres is refreshing. Yet, despite the brave attempt, the same flow that existed in “My Slowianie” and “Cicha Woda” is nowhere to be found. But at least Kamil Bednarek’s bit seems to make more sense in this song than Sitek’s in “Cicha Woda”.
Score: 3.5/5 (It’s pleasant, but not a top 10).
Bartek, this what you wrote is SOME BULLSHIT!
It will be another big hit Poland. The song has 1 milion views (without videoclip) in 3 days. Cleo is number 1 female singer on facebook, Bednarek is number 1 male singer in facebook. This is piece of art – lyrics are really good 😉 On 13 september will be premiere of Cleo’s album and they have 4 clips to publish – the first one will be with popular folk-pop band Enej. The song will be called ‘Bra?’ 😉
I love this song actually, and Cleo looks fab in the promotional photo
I hope the music video IS inappropriate 🙂
Man, I hope the music video’s not too inappropriate!
