As happens with any contest, there is always general interest as to who will be hosting.

As any Eurovision fan knows, a contest may have the best arena, the best lights, the best camera work, and the best singers, but sometimes the host can undo all that fabulous by being a bit too dry. Malta seems to have decided on Moira Delia as the main, and sole, hostess for this year’s Junior Eurovision in Malta.

Earlier today our friends at escflashmalta.com reported that sources close to PBS had allegedly confirmed this news. At that point, however, there was no official annoucement. But, moments after we published an article on the matter, the EBU and JuniorEurovision.tv confirmed it!

Moira Delia is no stranger to television. She has presented countless television shows on each of the three major stations in Malta, and has been the face for countless advertising campaigns for various brands. She served as spokesperson at the Eurovision Song Contest twice, co-hosted the Malta Eurovision Song Contest, and was the main (and only) proper host of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest last year — aided by Ira Losco and Gianluca Bezzina. Her most recent TV hit is the lifestyle programme ‘Ilsien in-Nisa’ which airs on ONE TV — a Maltese take on the “Loose Women”/”The View”/”The Talk” format.

An avid animal rights activist, Moira has proven time and time again that she has the ability to entertain Europe in November. Keep following our Junior Eurovision news in our special section by clicking here.
