Today Serbia’s state broadcaster RTS made it official: The beloved Balkan nation plans to the Eurovision Song Contest!
Please note that we said plans. The news, which was published on RTS’s web site this morning, stresses that “finances remain a major problem” and that things could still fall through.
RTS reserves the right to the allowable limit set by the EBU (October 10th 2014) to terminate their participation without consequence, provided it has not managed to solve the problem of financial resources needed to participate in this prestigious music competition.
Officials say that they will decide how to choose their contestant later. Given that money is a problem, we suspect they may pull an Israel and choose internally.
Are you guys excited that Serbia is planning a return? Let us know below.

Balkan Balkan Balkan Ovo Je Balkan Come On! Serbia is back!
well of course… they had horrible dresses and song by the way … I really hope that Serbia could be represented by someone as good as Zelko Joksimovic
Belko, they did win the B Dex Award!
oh yeah those outfits were just horrible, i dont know if they won The Barbara Dex Award? they should have….that was just horrible……………..
Good news. But keep the moron who did the staging for Mojo3 far away from whatever act is selected.
I know Serbian 🙂 since I am from Serbia, I am really happy that we are back, and we can withdraw as every country that has confirmed, that aren’t just plans as you said in the article, it is the same as every participation, Hungarian for example/ I don’t know did you maybe use google.translate.com because that doesn’t work so good for Serbian, actually, it doesn’t work good at all, but what says on RTS website is that we can withdraw if we want, just like everyone else.
I made a mistake, I meant that with “keeping the right to withdraw” isn’t anything serious. The confirmation is serious, of course.
On official site RTS confirmed, Serbia will be participating but, as all countries that have confirmed, can withdraw, it is not anything serious, it is an official confirmation same as Danish, Swedish, French etc.
*return
Very happy for both a Serbian and Bulgarian turn, because they’re both some of my favourite ESC countries, and hopefully they deliver something great.
lmao @ the beloved balkan nation
So basically, it’s not confirmed yet, we’ll know until Oct. if they participate or not. But I’m glad they’re at least trying, hopefully they’ll stay! Serbia is always one of my top favourites every year 🙂
Any word on croatia yet? Haven’t heard a spec of news about there participation 2015?
so this is not official a return? A confirm
