Back in 2006 everything changed at Eurovision when rock group Lordi won the contest for Finland for the first time with a record-breaking 292 points in Athens. Lordi’s win with “Hard Rock Hallelujah” didn’t just open Eurovision to rock groups: it also shook off the image of Eurovision being a mere Schlager-festival. This Halloween the monster band will release their seventh album “Scare Force One”. The album’s first single “Nailed by the Hammer of Frankenstein” will get its release next Friday, September 19
But there’s more happening in Monsterland. A documentary film of Lordi and its front man Mr. Lordi will premiere on September 26 in Finnish movie theaters. The documentary, entitled Monsterimies (Monsterman), will show the everyday life of the band members and some very exclusive archive material from Mr. Lordi’s childhood.
Although the film contains behind-the-scenes material, the band keeps its sense of mystery and their real faces aren’t shown on the documentary. The documentary is being filmed in Finland, Europe and United States and is seeking international theatrical distribution. In the Finnish trailer Mr. Lordi confesses if he weren’t Mr. Lordi, he rather be dead dead. That’s harsh!
