After making their return in 2014, it looks like TVP have said “I Don’t Wanna Leave” to Eurovision and have put forward their plans to take part in Vienna!
It’s great news from the broadcaster, who have often cited financial issues as reasons for not taking part in Eurovision. But in this document from TVP to the Polish media regulator, Eurovision is listed in the programme plan for 2015!
Whilst there’s been no direct confirmation from TVP (and it is only a plan), it’s definitely a sign that Polish participation in 2015 is very much on the cards. It’s noteworthy that there’s no other mention of Eurovision within the same document, which may imply that instead of a national selection contest, TVP could be opting for another internal selection.
The public quite openly welcomed Poland back to Eurovision in Copenhagen, where Cleo and Donatan taught us all to “shake what your momma gave ya” on their way to a 14th placed finish. That was the best result for Poland since 2003, although the country has never quite matched the heights that they reached on their debut, where Edyta Górniak finished second with “To nie ja!”

To all the prudes out there…
I think it’s past your bedtime.
That’s good! They have done great this year, so they’d better use the same system.
@Darren, you say that countries with very long absences always do well but what about Slovakia in 2009? They came second-to-last in the semi final. And also Hungary in 2011 was after a one year absence, but Hungary 2005 was a great return after 7 years
@Patrick
Portugal 2014 and Montenegro were only gone for 1 year, the countries I mentioned had very long absences and there returns needed to be successful to guarantee future participation a. I can guarantee that if Monaco, Czech Republic and Turkey returned they would do well, I’m also expecting my theory to work in 2015 with Bosnia-Herzegovina
@ Darren: Returing countries always do well? Probably not. Most of the tv audience does not even know that some countries return and withdraw. San Marino 2011? Montenegro 2012? Portugal 2014? Monaco 2004?
Sure they take part? Because they could of course plan to broadcast Eurovision, but do they take part in it?
Don’t want to sound negative, but I expect Poland to return to their old ways. They only quailed and was successful due to the “provocative” stage show and the fact that returning counties always do well upon their return. (Italy, Austria, Hungary in 2011)
Great news. Their 2014 entry was fun and nice… hope they continue on this more modern route.
Hope they send something bether than the crap for Copenhagen
Zzzz zzzz
Great news
I hope we’ll get another hit song from Poland.
Wonderful! One of my favorite countries in the contest!
