Four years ago, we saw squeaky-voiced Vladimir Arzumanyan dedicate a song to his “Mama” in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Mommy worship didn’t work for Belgium’s Axel Hirsoux this past May, but it did for young Vladimir: He won the contest for Armenia at age twelve.
Since then, we haven’t seen much of Vladimir (school comes first, y’all!) but he has now reemerged as a handsome, tenor-voiced young man. His new single “Galis Em Het” shows off the new, sophisticated Vlad—and a rather bling airplane.
The song is folk pop, a common style in Armenia, but in the form of a ballad. His vocals are spot on, keeping us intrigued for the full four-and-a-half minutes. Vladimir takes us to the airfield, a grassfield, and some ruins to show off his more mature sound.
Vladimir Arzumanyan turned sixteen just a few weeks after the contest in Copenhagen, so he is eligible for the adult contest starting this year. Now that songs can be released for the contest, is it possible that “Galis Em Het” (which already has 13,000 views in the two days it has been released) could be Armenia’s next entry? Choosing an already-popular song worked out well for Poland this year. Should Armenia give that method a try?
Review: 4.5/5
I actually kinda like this song 🙂
@Yudhistira: no chance. Looks very different with Verrel Bramasta.
thumbs up
VLADIMIIIR <3<3 I really hope he is the Armenian participant next year in the regular Eurovision! BTW, he looks like Verrell Bramasta, a celebrity we have here in Indonesia.
