Russia has given its Junior Eurovision entry the same treatment that it gave to its Eurovision entry. Mere days after announcing tiny Alisa Kozhikina as its representative in Marsa, it has rushed to reveal the melody, entitled “Dreamer”, and has released a snazzy black and white video to go along with it. They seemed to have learned their lesson and skipped the bubblegum pink lipsyncing video this time around. Watch the video below.

The production put into the video is wonderful and Alisa has a fantastic voice. But after the wonderful “Mechtay” last year, I think Russia has taken a step backwards and relented on copying last year’s winner, Gaia Cauchi. That said, the competition lacked a power ballad until now, so this will add a bit of variety. Can a ballad compete against clubby floor stomping numbers like the Dutch “Around” and the Cypriot “I pio omorfi mera“? You decide!

What do you think of the song? Let us know in the comments.

Alisa the Russian 10 year old is clearly the best .
Whether it is pop or ballad she is so far superior to any others Clearly should be awarded winner.

This is so beautiful! :’)
And definitely, this is one of the JESC entries from this year that deserve the top 10. Russia never fails to deliver when it comes to entries with powerhouse vocals to the Eurovision, and even to the Junior Eurovision!

Alisa is very talented but song is a little bit boring. Gaia Cauchi won because of her voice so Alisa may be the next winner.
My top so far
1. Armenia
2. Russia
3. Ukraine
4. Belarus
5. Sweden
6.The Netherlands

I actually like this, and the music video is beautiful and looks like it’d be from a movie I’d watch. Alisa’s voice is absolutely amazing and I’m sure she can pull of a live performance just as amazing too. It’s definitely nice having a ballad added into the mix, but I’m not sure if it’d stand out or be forgotten amongst all the dance songs. A great entry though, in my opinion. The Junior Eurovision songs this year are better than most Eurovision songs it seems 😛 1) Belarus – 10/10 2) Sweden – 9/10 3) Cyprus – 9/10 4)… Read more »
