Hot on the heels of Russia and San Marino, Georgia have just unveiled their Junior Eurovision entry for 2014. Lizi Japaridze, performing as Lizi Pop, will sing “Happy Day”.
The song is unlike any of the other entries we’ve heard so far. It begins slowly, with a delicate opening verse, before Lizi launches into a powerhouse chorus. This pattern continues throughout the song, building up towards a thrilling finish. This is how “Wrecking Ball” would’ve sounded if Miley Cyrus had stayed PG.
For someone so young, Lizi has a fine set of pipes, but she won’t be expected to carry the whole performance on her own. The 11 year old will be joined on stage by four backing dancers – Kate Arbolishvili, Nita Lomidze, Sopho and Dea Dashnianis.
After the three minutes of pain inflicted on us by the Shin & Mariko back in May, Georgia owed us big. And boy have they delivered!

Is this for real? “Wrecking ball” all the way. At least, they should have steal from another artist. Either way, this sounds soooooooo “grown up” not junior.

The chorus sounds just like “Wrecking Ball” by Miley Cyrus. It’s an interesting song but I don’t know if Lizi’s voice is strong enough for it.
