Ten days ago, on September 19, we asked all you wiwijunior readers to choose your favorite Junior Eurovision 2014 act so far. At that time four countries—Armenia, Belarus, Sweden and Ukraine—had revealed their songs. We received a total of 730 votes, and can now reveal that Ukraine’s trio Sympho-Nick have emerged as your winners!

Your Junior Eurovision 2014 favourites so far

1. Ukraine: Sympho-Nick with “Pryyde Vesna”: 40.96% (299 votes)

2. Belarus: Nadezdha Misyakova with “Sokol”: 21.1% (154 votes)

3. Sweden: Julia Kedhammar with “Du Ar Inte Ensam”: 19.59% (143 votes)

4. Armenia: Betty with “People of the Sun”: 18% (134 votes)

The Ukrainian trio won with more than 40% of all votes. Their song “Pryyde Vesna” discusses their anticipation for spring. And while that hasn’t come yet, their fandom at wiwibloggs IS blossoming. You go, girls! One of our readers recently put out the question if they were winning because our readers felt sorry for Ukraine because of its withdrawal from adult Eurovision. That’s one theory…but we think our readers probably just like their song.

In a tough competition among the rest of the contenders, lovely Nadezdha—the hawk impersonator from Belarus—came second, leaving Sweden’s Julia Kedhammar, who recently sang an acoustic version of her entry, in third place. Armenia, which is adorably putting the Junior in Junior Eurovision name, came last. Were y’all blinded by Betty’s sunshine? We appreciated the rays…

We’ll be launching this week’s poll on Wednesday, October 1. You’ll have one week to vote, and we’ll include six new acts: Cyrpus, Georgia, the Netherlands, Russia, San Marino and Serbia.

My favourites THE NETHERLANDS AND SWEDEN!! It’s funny because there both Julia’s haha. And mostly because I’m half dutch!! But I love the song ‘around’ it’s a good tune and its a shame us British have to watch it online though it she be put back on BBC1!

I think their voices compliment each other’s well, better than San Marino, but Ukraine does have an awful song. I think Belarus, Russia, Sweden or Cyprus will win, mostly because they are the most powerful songs. Georgia’s is powerful, but it is childish, sounds too muck like a Miley Cyrus song, AND the background voices are AWFUL, basically I am not a fan of Georgia’s song

I think that Georgia will win. This is Georgia’s second non childish song. If history repeats itself this will be the top 3:
1: Georgia/Russia/Malta/Italy (power ballads)
2: Netherlands/Cyprus/Sweden (dance song)
3: Armenia/San Marino/Belarus (quite random songs)

Nope, they won’t win :p Probably in middle-modus. No way that non-ESC fans care about Ukraine’s withdrawal.

Lol there’s no way Ukraine legitimately won this poll, I’ve never seen someone praise this one whatsoever. For me, I don’t dislike it but it’s still my least favourite.

Funny to see Ukraine winning this poll, when all I’ve heard around here are negative opinions about it.

I do love it though! and probably must be the only one 😀 so yeah, go Ukraine!
