Who wants to represent the land of mountains and chocolate in Vienna? That’s right, y’all: The submission period for the Swiss German broadcaster SRF has begun! Known for being one of a small number of broadcasters allowing foreign acts to compete without any Swiss involvement, it has opted for allowing anyone who will be of age next year to upload their music videos and dream of a spot in the expert check stage. They don’t play. As you’ll recall, Poland’s Gosia made the shortlist last year.

The submission period will end in about a month, on October 27. At that point, the public will vote with a jury to determine the nine songs to progress to the expert check. There, it will be joined by three songs from the Swiss Italian broadcaster and six from the Swiss French broadcaster. Three German, two French, and one Italian song will then progress to the final in January, where we decide who will be winning the ticket to Austria.

Do you think you have what it takes to represent Switzerland? Let us know below, and please do share if you have submitted!

I hope someone from the Philippines tries this if foreign acts outside the EBU coverage area are allowed to join. There are a lot of good singers here who are interested in taking their singing careers to the global stage and the Eurovision through Switzerland might just help them with that, although I know its less likely to happen and that there are other ways aside from the Eurovision for that to happen.
