Following Sergej Cetkovic’s best-ever placing for Montenegro at Eurovision 2014, state broadcaster RTCG has decided to choose its Eurovision 2015 contestant through an internal selection.

As you diehard fans will recall, Montenegro has done this every year since 2009, apparently a response to lacklustre placings in 2007 and 2008—its first two years competing in the contest as an independent nation. In those early years Montenegro chose its singers—Stevan Faddy and Stefan Filipovic—via the MontenegroSong competition. They finished 22nd and 14th in their semi-finals, respectively.

When RTCG chose Andrea Demirovic internally in 2009, she finished 11th in her semi-final, narrowly missing a spot in Saturday’s show.

You can expect more details from RTCG in the coming weeks. As for now, let’s enjoy Sergej serenading the team from wiwibloggs in Copenhagen.

I didn’t fall in love with Moj Svijet as much as some others, but I really want to see Sergej again. Something interesting about the guy that is unique. Best of luck to him.
