Earlier tonight, the wiwibloggs team were glued to Malta’s most popular current affairs show Xarabank. And no we hadn’t suddenly developed an interest in the ins and outs of the island’s political scene. We were tuning in to watch as the 20 semi-finalists for November’s Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2015 were revealed.
Over the course of two hours of filler, adverts and mircowave give aways, we found out the names of the lucky acts who will compete for the opportunity to represent Malta in Vienna. Several familiar faces made the cut including Glen Vella, Gianluca Bezzina (with L-Ahwa) and Daniel Testa, along with a troupe of singing nuns – Sisters (Ekklesia). And despite the rumours, there was no wild card entry from Ira Losco. Check out the full list below.

20. Minik “Once In A While”
What do y’all think? Who should represent Malta? And are any of the 20 acts capable of winning the main contest in May?
Good songs I like It could have been me by Iona Dalli best new face and such an amazing voice hope I hope she will do well
Based on these snippets, to me only Chris Grech’s one-minute-clip sounds promising.
Allthough I still have hope on Amber, Raquel Galdes, Danica Muscat.
And maybe Karen Debattista, Glen Vella, Corazon Mizzi, Lyndsay Pace or L’Ahwa (allthough that one just sounds like Tomorrow 2) can surprize, or the two vid’s that weren’t there.
Absolutely don’t like: Trilogy, the Nuns, Franklin Calleja, Jessika, Minik, Christabelle (Spice-(up-your-live)-Girls-rip-off), Lawrence Gray and Deborah C. So probably one of these will be clear winner, just like last years horrible ‘Coming home’
I like ‘Could have been me’ by Iona Dalli best. The type of song that you hear once and fall in love with immediately. I hope it will be amongst the top 5 if not the winner.
Chris Grech is probably the only one with potential to win Eurovision… so Malta probably will not send him.
really hope that amber wins!

Oh I also like: Trilogy, Franklin, Lyndsay Pace, Amber, Jessika & Chris Grech!
Danica and Corazon have beautiful voices as well, but their songs are too boring for Eurovision. There’s not really any I dislike… The other songs are just less good and slightly boring, in my opinion.
Deborah C just based on the charisma in the performance, I like her. But I also think Christabelle’s could be good if it was re-worked a bit since the verses are a tad boring, but the chorus <3 No doubt it'll be something like The Sisters though.
IONA DALLI
01. Chris Grech
02. Christabelle
03. Raquel
04. L-Ahwa
05. Amber
But will win the Sisters (Ekklesia)
Lots of good names, but bad quality. I like Raquel, Amber, Lyndsay, and Jessika is okay when you ignore that awkward intro. I guess Franklin will win, what I wouldn’t mind at all.
Anyway, how bad Ira Losco’s song was if it didn’t go trough?
Ranking & Rating (1-6 points): 1. Deborah C – It’s OK 5/6 2. Amber – Warrior 5/6 3. Karen Debattista – 12, Baker Street 4/6 4. Minik – Once In A While 4/6 5. Glen Vella – Breakaway 4/6 6. Daniel is going to be the dark horse
I really love Lawrence Gray’s song and he has the most amazing voice. The link here shows a video of the preview of his song. It is of better quality than the one shown above…

I like the 18th song Could have been me, I think the singer is very talented even tough she’s young.
Lots of good things to watch. Malta’s national final has gotten pretty good in the last couple of years!
Jessika is the only act I find interesting in “non-making-fun-of” way.
Amber and Chris Grech sound like the only two with serious potential. That nuns song is absolutely awful and would never qualify.
My favorite is Debroah C! I also really like L-ahwa, Jessika and Raquel.
So far, I love the songs from The Sisters, Amber and Deborah C.
I do also like the songs from Daniel Testa, Corazon, Christabelle, Jessika & Trilogy 😛
Hope one of my favorites will win, eitherways, I wouldn’t mind if one of the songs i like will win.
Tho, I seriously want anything BUT L-Ahwa.
Please don’t choose the sisters
I don’t want an another year when everybody laugh about eurovision that how cheap it is
Gianluca please change Style & Rhythm this is not your first year in the eurovision ! i would choose the sisters (great song) as some of the songs are copied! But as usual same as every year.
i pick amber- warrior; lawrence gary- the one that you love; the sisters- love and let go, l-ahwa- gianluca!
Recently, Malta has been the one country I’ve been wanting to send dance music after seeing so much of it in their national selections, so right now I’m really hoping for Jessika or Christabelle (who were also my favourites last year). But we’ll see when the full studio versions are released.
The same people every year….zzzz
Ooh I love Trilogy’s song <3 It's so beautiful <3
Like L-Ahwa with Gianluca
Daniel Testa is so embarrassing. The opening of his entry is a perfect copy of Austria’s 2007 entry “Get a Life – Get Alive”
Gianluca!
Nuns! They win Catholic vote!
The sisters song is a bit boring but il ove ambers song though there can be some tweeks to make ot stand out more
