Slovenia’s RTVSLO has confirmed that it will field a contestant for the 60th edition of Eurovision this May in Vienna. Officials say they will elaborate on precisely how the contestant will be chosen “in the coming weeks and, at the latest, upon confirmation of the business plan for 2015.” We read that as: “once we know how much money we have, we’ll let you know if we’re going to have a national selection.”

We are over the moon. Last year Tinkara Kovac took the Balkan nation back to the final with her haunting song “Spet (Round and Round)”. It remains, according to many members of the Wiwi Jury, one of last year’s most underrated songs!

Given HOW AMAZING Slovenia’s Junior Eurovision singer and song are, we would have been shocked if they didn’t return to the adult ESC. JESC seems to signal renewed interest and committment in Eurovision, and we really do wish Ljubljana all the best.

Are you as excited as we are?

Wonderful! 😀 Hopefully they’ll stage a new EMA to find their entry, but I’m just happy they’ll participate at all.

“Straight Into Love”, “Verjamem”, “No One”, and “Round and Round” were all criminally underrated. Love Slovenia in ESC and now JESC too.

Yes! I really believe that Slovenia’s quality songs have all been criminally underrated, the best for me being “Cvet Z Juga”. Not only did it deserve far more than 15th place, it also is imo one of the best songs in Eurovision. The breathaking “No One” also deserved far more than 13th place. It deserved winning. And lastly, the fantastic “Round and Round” and “Verjamem” both really underrated and top 10 worthy. And “Mr. Nobody” too. “Love Symphony” and “Vrag Naj Vzame” were also underrated.

Slovenia is the most underrated active ESC country. “Round and Round” was one of their best songs, I still love it. Please, Slovenia, send another amazing entry! 🙂

I’m still listening to “Round and Round”.
I think not being allowed to play the flute live and having to sync may have cost a few points.

YES. Round&Round was my favourite entry last year. Hope they send something equally as good.

I root for Slovenia in ESC quite a bit; they always field good entries, they have a bloc of support, but somehow, that never seems to translate into results.
