San Marino, the country that brought us Valentina Monetta and Senhit, has confirmed that it will be present at Eurovision 2015. San Marino follows Slovenia and Poland as the latest country to confirm that they will build their bridge to Vienna.
We are delighted, as this brings the country count up to 38, which is one more that last year.
We are yet to see official confirmation from Albania. So far reports that Albania will return have been based on an advertisement calling for acts for Festivali i Këngës, but that advertisement said nothing about the winner singing at Eurovision. We’re really nervous as we want—no, need—to see another Rona Nishliu or Kejsi Tola on stage.
In any event, we are super excited to see what San Marino can offer us after Valentina’s 3-year-reign comes to an end.
San Marino made the final for the first time in Copenhagen, with the song Maybe by the Queen of Eurovision, Valentina Monetta. Watch her performance below.
I want to see Michele Perniola next year in #ESC2015 proud of him :’)
Fingers crossed for him 😉
Please return to ESC Valentinaaaaa!!!!
I WANT VALENTINA BACK!
SHE IS A HOUSEHOLD NAME!!!!!
Fingers crossed for Michele Perniola. He would fare better in the adult Eurovision. But I’m glad to see San Marino joining us next year either way!
I hope they send Valentina!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =)
I’ve strongly disliked every Sammarinese entry ever, but it’s still nice to see another country competing. Hopefully they don’t import any more Italians.
I would love if Valentina became part of the Sammarinese team to help future acts succeed. We want to have her around still even if she does not perform! 🙂
Valentina we want you back!!!!!! She is the GREatest thnig that has ever happened to eurovision!!! she deserved to qualify both in 2013 and 2014… So sad to hear this
San Marino deserved to qualify in 2013, not this year. Anyway, i wonder which act they will choose next year. Kinda pointless to take part though. Please do not ask that German guy to write your song! We want Italian music
No one (in the pre-Internet days) was really bothering to be vocal if Luxembourg or Switzerland were being represented by french or german or italian singers or singers from several other countries … for as long as the songs were good to listen to. It ends up being hypocritical in this day and age of globalization and social media where everybody can say everything with literally no boundaries whatsoever, if fans began pointing the finger at San Marino for being represented by Italian singers … I mean, why would that be an issue? There is a whole wide range of… Read more »
So glad Valentina isn’t representing San Marino again! It will be nice to see what else San Marino can bring to the stage in Vienna, IMO Valentina was very much overrated
The “without Valentina” part is my absolute favourite part in all this … she needed to get a life for once …
YESSS! I’m a little bit bored with Valentina representing San Marino for 3 years straight. So, Pharrell or Michele Perniola will be a good choice to represent San Marino next year
Hooray! I loved every entry from San Marino, but none of them have been my favourites.
Great news!
I hope for a Sammarinese singer at all – not an Italian.
Valentina for the forth time would be a Eurovision record. Valentina with a song which not written by Ralph Siegel, that’s what we do need.
I can imagine Valentina when she is singing a Swedish produced ballad like “Undo” or a Nina Zilli-style song.
I am really happy for San Marino! But why hasn’t anyone wrote about the non-participation of Bulgaria yet!?
I want to see Valentina <3
Plot twist: Valentina goes again and wins and it’s a party at her house!!
Happy for San Marino 🙂 Tears for Bulgaria, though.
