Albania: RTSH finally confirms participation for Eurovision 2015

Albania’s National broadcaster, Radio Televizioni Shqiptar (RTSH) has confirmed to wiwibloggs that Albania will be present in Vienna for Eurovision 2015. We have waited for so long for this moment to come true!

Song Selection

Albania will select its 12th Eurovision entry from the long-running traditional song contest, Festivali i Këngës. This year will the 53rd Festivali i Këngës. Festivali i Këngës 53 is scheduled to be held on December 26, 27 and 28 at the Pallati i Kongreseve in Tirana. It’s mostly likely that Arbana Osmani will host the 53rd Festivali i Këngës. She is a very popular Albanian television presenter and radio personality. Osmani is well known for presenting Big Brother Albania. RTSH called on for artists to send their songs in early September and has accepted songs on 14 & 15 of October.

Rumours

There are already artists that have been rumoured to be taking part in Festivali i Këngës 53. These include Venera Lumani, Devis Xherahu, Ronela Hajati and Xhani Shqerra.

Venera Lumani

Venera Lumani entered together with Lind Islami at last year’s Festivali i Këngës with Natë e parë. They ended up in 4th place in the contest. The latest rumours are that Lumani will be entering again this year.

Last year, Hersiana Matmuja represented Albania at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest with One Night’s Anger. Unfortunately, Hersi failed to qualify to the grand final and was placed 15th with 22 points.
