Switzerland: Yes, The Rumours do feature Anna Rossinelli

Fresh off the success of their re-released album Marylou Two and their smash hit single “Shine In The Light”, Swiss Eurovision contestants Anna Rossinelli are back in the studio to record a special album with The Rumours — a collective of musicians including Thomas Rechberger formerly of Lovebugs (Eurovision 2009). A national tour featuring the bands kicks off on October 25.

“Manitou”, the first single off the album, is out and comes with a music video drawn by Manillio, one of the rappers. Beyond giving the lyrics a visual identity, the video adds a playful edge to the German rap sound. Anna’s distinctive voice underscores the mono delivery of the rap. Think of what Dido did for Eminem on “Stan’, and you’re on the right track. However, unlike  Eminem, The Rumours rap offerings leave you wanting more of Anna Rossinelli. While attempting to be a collaboration, “Manitou’ serves more as a showcase for Anna’s vocals.
