Vincenzo Cantiello from Italy has won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2014 with his song ‘Tu Primo Grande Amore’.

Croatia’s Josie went EDM. San Marino’s Peppermints werked those colorful skirts. Montenegro’s Masa and Lejla showed us how to be a kid. Sweden’s Julia Kedhammar presented some schlager-tastic fun on stage! But in the end, Europe, the kid’s jury, and the professional jury gave the victory to Italy’s Vincenzo Cantiello with Tu Primo Grande Amore. Yes, that’s right, y’all! The only boy has beat all of the girls!

“Tu Primo Grande Amore” – Vincenzo Cantiello

È cambiato tutto ora che ci sei
Tu così importante dentro i sogni miei…
E’ così speciale stare insieme a te
Quasi non ci credo e non so perché…

Lo sai,non posso più aspettare…
Ti voglio bene, lo devo dire…

Io, non so fare a meno
Dei tuoi occhi dentro i miei
Del tuo cuore quando batte forte
Batte forte insieme al mio…
Tu, primo grande amore
Non ci lasceremo mai
Tu, il sorriso delle mie carezze
Tu che illumini per me…
La notte…

Perché non siamo già più grandi…?!
Fuori dai banchi di questa scuola…

You are my very first love
I will never let you go,
Perché c’è qualcosa che mi dice
Che mai più sarà così…

You are my very fisrt love
I will never let you go

Sei Tu il sorriso delle mie carezze
Tu il mio solo primo e grande
Amore

English Translation

It’s all changed now that you’re there
You are so important in my dreams …
It’s so special about being with you
Almost don’t believe it and I don’t know why …

You know, I can’t wait …
I love you, I have to say …

I can not live without
your eyes in my eyes
When your heart beats strong
Pounding along with my …
You, the first great love
I will never let you go
You, the smile of my stroking
You which illuminate for me
The night …

Why we are not already older…?!
Out from this school …

You are my very first love
I will never let you go,
Because there is something that tells me
That never again will be so …

You are my very fisrt love
I will never let you go

Are you the smile of my stroking
You are my first and only great
Love

Italy is a worthy winner, good song and performance.
My favorites however were Bulgaria and Malta and I’m glad they both did well.
I’m quite sure we’ll see the Maltese girl in the grown ups’ Eurovision someday, She gave a stunning performance.

@PP – We also saw Armenia and Georgia exchanging 12 points each, like they do on ESC. The countries influenced culturally by their proximity to Italy awarded it each with 12 points (Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro and San Marino) and those were the only countries from which Italy received the douze points in addition to the first jury vote of the night. Armenia had the highest number of 12’s and they all came from former USSR countries and Malta. These voting patterns usually repeat themselves on the ESC itself to some extent: All you have to do is take a look… Read more »

We saw yesterday, that ex soviet countries gave high marks only for theirex soviet neighbours. Ex yugoslav countries did n t do that yestreday, and because of that they had lower place on scoreboard.

You got the point totals for Serbia and Georgia wrong: they are both higher by 20 points. Serbia’s is 61, not 41 and Georgia’s is 54, not 34. 1st. Italy – 159 points 2nd. Bulgaria – 147 points 3rd. Armenia – 146 points 4th. Malta – 116 points 5th. Russia – 96 points 6th. Ukraine – 74 points 7th. Belarus – 71 points 8th. The Netherlands – 70 points 9th. Cyprus – 69 points 10th. Serbia – 61 points 11th. Georgia – 54 points 12th. Slovenia – 29 points 13th. Sweden – 28 points 14th. Montenegro – 24 points 15th.… Read more »

I was really surprised at how well Italy did tonight. While I was watching, I was expecting this to be bottom 5 because it seemed like such an average song that would get lost between the likes of Ukraine, Slovenia, and Bulgaria. But when he started singing I started to get the strangest feeling that it would do really well, but winner? That was a complete surprise. I was also impressed by Sweden and Armenia, two song I didn’t care about until they sang, then they completed my top 5 following Slovenia, Belarus, and Ukraine. I feel bad for Croatia,… Read more »

So happy for Bulgaria and Armenia. From the very beginning I knew Armenia would be in the top 5 – the whole stage presentation was just amazing. Actually, it was the best presentation of the night. I am sure that Armenia won the televotes and placed lower with juries. Nonetheless, glad it received most 12s. Italy was mehhh

Armenia was such a surprise, was probably my bottom place before the show. Afterwards, it was at least in the top 5. Such a huge turn around. Georgia didn’t translate on stage along with Croatia, worst of the night. Slovenia and Cyprus should have been much further up, but it’s the same old story. Italy was helped with mass votes from both Malta and San Marino for sure, but I have to say he was the best performance of the night. I dislike the song, but his voice and the performance was amazing. A deserved winner! #Jesc2015Rome

Will we get a split jury televoting result?

Slovenia had a much better song than them all by far. Why are they always so underrated! I think that Armenia must have won the televoting because they can’t have placed so high otherwise and Georgia got last with juries. Italy did not deserve the crown at all.

Wow, didn’t see that coming! That said, what a big voice this guy has! He had a really deserving performance.
Happy Russia placed in the top 5 🙂 I’m a little disappointed Belarus, Serbia, ad Cyprus didn’t place higher. Slovenia’s placing was a disgrace to Eurovision as usual, what a shame.
Congratulations to all! I hope there are no bad feelings left behind.

A great show I think, great stage, and some spectacular acts. For me Malta, Italy and Bulgaria were the best of the bunch. Bulgaria a wonderful surprise, a fantastic song performed to perfection. Italy was old school class and Malta simply breathtaking. Great job.

Thank god that awful Malta didnt win, i mean the song ofcourse :P. Italy was good, byt i loved Cyprus. I hope this is not a trend for next years jesc: send a boy or girl with a big voice and let him/her sing a ballad (is that the only way you can win nowadays?). Please bring back the uptempo cheerful ‘kids’-songs.

Surprising winner, but definitely a worthy one! Overall good results, just sad Sweden didn’t do well (as always). Not suprised Slovenia did bad though, it was the most boring ballad.

I’m happy for Italy, but I didn’t really like the song. I have a bad feeling a lot of the ex-Yugoslav countries are going to withdraw too. I’m hoping however that since Italy won it’ll keep San Marino in for at least another year and maybe bring in some Big Five countries?
Btw – Slovenia, Cyprus, Sweden and the Netherlands were all underrated!

I think all the Eurovision contests are at least partially fixed and that this was a message that they want more boys to compete in Junior Eurovision.

The results were almost perfect 🙂 Sweden a little higher and Malta a little lower, but it must have been difficult to choose a winner out of such a high standard. It just shows the two keys to winning JESC: a strong voice and something unique: Ukraine 2012: first ever dubstep at JESC (or ESC!); Malta 2013: Only big ballad; Italy 2014: Only boy. I was also happy to see the typical big-production, fun JESC song, Armenia, do as well as it did. Otherwise we would just see ballad, ballad, ballad every year. All in all BEST JESC EVER!

Wow. That was a surprise. I wanted Cyprus, Slovenia, or Malta to win, but Italy wasn’t such a bad champ. I just wish the contestants got to pick exactly where they drew rather than the producers choosing where songs would perform. Still in shock.

I don’t personally care for all this junior-thing. It has always been awkward for me … and seriously enough a very naïve way to bring back the same flaws from the adult version but hidden or disguised by the cute charm and smile of innocent kids who aren’t to be blamed by our stupidity. Nonetheless I’ll say this: it doesn’t matter if Italy participated here for the 1st time ever, and it does not even matter to me that being held in Malta might have influenced somehow. What matters to me is that he has a great voice and nice… Read more »

Vincenzo has a great voice, I won’t deny it, and his performance was on point, however the song is what I didn’t like and it was in fact one of my least favourites. That being said, congratulations to Italy for winning on their debut year! Once again, Vincenzo’s voice deserves recognition, even if I personally disliked the song. Also, great to see Bulgaria and specially Armenia and Malta so high! Ukraine also did pretty well, I only would’ve liked to see Cyprus highter, at least top 5. Those were my favourites. Specially happy for Armenia, from the top 3 I… Read more »

You know what, Italy actually deserved to win this year’s contest. That boy can sing so well! Congratulations to Italy! You guys just debuted this year and you’ve already won your first Junior Eurovision! :’D

There’s still the Online Award though and I’m rooting for either Ukraine, Cyprus or Russia to win in there.

We have same situation like in big Eurovision 2011. Italy after many years of abscnce get on 2 place thank to many points from juries 1 with juries only 11 in televote. First participation for Italy in Junior Eurovision and they win, i think only thantk to many points from juries. I like his song, and he is one of my favorite, but i think for me some counries deserved more to win , for me Ukraine, Malta
My TOP 5 after watch final are
1. Ukraine
2. Malta
3. Italy
4.Belarus
5.Serbia
