Eric Saade, Eurovision 2011 bronze medalist, has been reported as one of the contestants of Melodifestivalen 2015.
Saade leads a number of acts that Aftonbladet, a Swedish tabloid, claims will appear in the Swedish national selection for Eurovision 2015 in Vienna.
Linus Svenning, who reached the grand final with “Bröder” this year, Hasse Andersson, Isi Tengblad, Richard Söderberg & Elize Ryd (leader singer of power metal band Amaranthe), Jon Henrik Fällgren, Midnight Boy and Andreas Weise are all reported as part of the lineup.
If Saade returns it will be three years since he last appeared at Melodifestivalen when he entered ‘Popular’ and won the contest.
He hasn’t entirely left the Eurovision world behind since Dusseldorf though: in 2013 he sparked controversy when he called Petra Mede a “MILF” live during the voting sequence.
Forgive Me, his fourth LP, dropped in 2013 and he’s been writing music ever since. Let’s all cross our fingers a Melfest entry was written at some point…!
He’s not the only former winner of Melodifestivalen in the picture either. Two-time winner and one-time flop Charlotte Perrelli has been a rumoured act in this year’s lineup.
The full lineup for Melodifestivalen will be released on 24th-25th November next week!
