Albania’s National broadcaster Radio Televizioni Shqiptar (RTSH) has revealed the titles of the 28 competing songs for this year’s national selection. Fourteen contestants will compete in each semi-final — the first on December 26 and the second on December 27. Nine songs will advance from each semi-final to the Festivali i Këngës 53 Grand Final. A total of 18 songs will fight for the Albanian ticket to the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna.

Eurovision 2013 representative Bledar Sejko is back, but not entering as an artist but as a composer! He has composed Jozefina Simoni’s song. The composer of Nesër shkoj (Tomorrow I Go), Balada e gurit (Hear My Plea) and Zemrën e lamë peng, Adrian Hila is back and has composed Besiana Mehmeti & Shkodran Tolaj’s entry “Kështjella”. The writer of Kënga ime (Feel the Passion) and Nesër shkoj (Tomorrow I Go), Sokol Marsi has returned and co-written the song of the favourite to win the whole competition, Elhaida Dani and has written Sigi Bastri & Florent Abrashi’s entry.
The composer and writer of One Night’s Anger, the 2014 Albanian entry have returned! Genti Lako has composed Ana Gramo’s song while Jorgo Papingji has written Klajdi Musabelliu’s song. The authour of Albania 2006, Klodian Qafoku has composed Rezarta Smaja’s entry. Just recently, Dr. Flori died from a drug overdose which has sadden the Albanian community and had written Rezarta Smaja’s song.
Festivali i Këngës 53 is scheduled to be held on December 26, 27 and 28 at the Pallati i Kongreseve in Tirana.
I personally don’t like this national final for a number of reasons: 1. It is too dated. 2. It is stuck in the Communist era. 3. The songs are too bland. Although I loved Rona Nishliu and Adrian and Bledar’s entries respectively. How RTSH can modernize FiK: 1. Allow songs in English to enter. 2. Allow playback for some songs. 3. Encourage more Greek and Kosovarian artists to take part. Especially after Rona’s success in 2012. 4.
