The Danish national broadcaster DR has confirmed that Esben Bjerre and Jacob Rissing will be hosting DMGP 2015 — the Danish national selection for Eurovision. Rumours on Instagram and Twitter unfolded as the official Twitter of DMGP retweeted Esben Bjerre’s posts and mentioned them in an article on dr.dk.
RUMOURS
It all started when Esben posted a screenshot of a text message conversation with Jacob Riising via Instagram and Twitter. You can find both the Instagram and Twitter posts down below. More than 62,000 people follow him on Twitter. In the message, Jacob asked Esben whether he would join him as co-presenter of Melodi Grand Prix 2015. He agreed do to the job.
“Esben has done quite much live television. If something doesn’t go as planned, he is really good at improvising rather than panicking,” says Jacob about his new co-presenter.

It will be the second time in the history of DMGP that the show will feature two male hosts! Back in 2006 both Adam Duvå Hall and Mads Vangsø hosted the event.
It will be Esben’s first time presenting such a traditional show as Melodi Grand Prix:
“My first thought when I was offered the job was: ‘I really want to do that!’ Jacob is an experienced presenter of entertainment shows, while I will be the “new guy”. I’m sure that it will be an terrific experience,” says Esben.

Esben Bjerre
Esben Bjerre is one of Denmark’s most popular radio and television presenters. Most of the radio and tv shows he has presented so far have been satirical in nature and often controversial. Along with Peter Falktoft, he commented on the DR3 broadcasts of the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest. This will be Esben’s first time hosting DMGP.
Jacob Riising
Jacob Riising is best known for presenting children’s programmes. You might have seen him before, as Jacob co-presented Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2014.
The DR Entertainment Manager Jan Lagermand Lundme said they’ve spent a few months developing and refining the entertainment crown jewel, as he believes the upcoming Dansk Melodi Grand Prix is going to shine even brighter! He also stated in DR’s press release that the quality of the songs submitted was much higher than in previous years. Futhermore, they received songs from many songwriters who have previously refused competing in Melodi Grand Prix.
For the very first time, Dansk Melodi Grand Prix will have a slogan: “Drømmen lever” or – in English – “The Dream Is Alive”. DR have also changed the DMGP logo. You can read more about the new logo and slogan here.
The Danish final will be held at the northern city of Aalborg on 7 February. Read more on our article about Gigantium Arena hosting the Danish National Selection here.

I wonder can Denmark win Eurovision 2015 and bring the contest back to Copenhagen for Eurovision 2016?
DMGP is always an amazing show and the songs are always extremely high quality. Normally I wouldn’t mind which one got sent to ESC. In my mind the Danish songs are always better than the Swedish songs in MelFest….and I’m Swedish. We should take a lesson from our neighbours down south.
I was hoping for Nikolaj Koppel and Pilou Asbaek to host DMGP. 😀
DMGP’s (and the ESC 2014) are constantly very good produced. Kudos to DR for that. This year will be spectacular, I presume, as always.
DMGP had best stage in national finals of every particpated coutnries at Eurovison from 2010. Stage from DMGP 2010 was bettter than stage from Eurovison 2010.
Same with othe national finals.
Nobody cares about hosts of DMGP.
