Christmas is almost here, and Eurovision stars are getting ready to deck the halls and stuff their stockings. In honor of the holidays we’ll be sharing some of our favourite holiday covers from your beloved Eurovision singers. These songs obviously weren’t sung on the ESC stage, but they’ll provide the perfect background music while you’re wrapping presents and kissing under that mistletoe. Whether you’ve been naughty or nice, we’ll share more playlists in the days ahead!
1. Sir Cliff Richard – Mistletoe and Wine
We can’t forget 1968, when Sir Cliff reached second place with “Congratulations.” But in all honesty, more people around the world are probably familiar with the song “Mistletoe and Wine”. He does this justice — and has us standing around a big tree in a circle holding hands and singing. “Congratulations!” It’s perfect.
2. Johnny Logan – Another Christmas Song
We seriously could not leave Mr. Eurovision off this list, even if he’s said unpleasant things about Jedward in the past. He’s got a timeless voice that makes everything better.
3. Engelbert Humperdinck – Blue Christmas
The Hump became a household name way before his Eurovision performance. This video captures a younger version of Englebert singing “Blue Christmas.” He’s a true gentleman with a warm voice. This belongs on everyone’s Christmas playlist!
4. Charlotte Perrelli – All I Want For Christmas
Mariah Carey made this a global hit in 1994, but that didn’t intimdate Eurovision winner Charlotte Perrelli. The mutli-talented Swedish diva proves once again that she can “take us to her heaven” with a brilliant performance of the song. She recently played Evita in Sweden, and she brings the drama to this. Now pass the apple cider!

5. Celine Dion – So This Is Christmas
Just close your eyes and enjoy this Canadian diamond. You’ll instantly recognise her magical voice, and then you’ll go on iTunes and download her entire Christmas album. Play it for Santa and he may give you an extra treat…

6. Cascada – Last Christmas
Who says Christmas can’t be funky? Wham! Cascada gives us this guilty pleasure, which makes us want to celebrate the holidays inside a club while sipping G&Ts.
7. Alexander Rybak – Let It Snow
Oh My Christmas! This guy is still playing on his violin and we still consider it a gift. Play that fiddle! Fill my stocking!

dutch eurovision news trijntje oosterhuis to reveal song on 11 december in radio show gouden uren
Ugh this Celine Dion cover of the John Lennon song is just about as bad as when the Season 2 UK Pop Idols redid it! And I live for some Celine Dion!
