It’s Autumn. The golden leaves are falling from the trees, and much of it lands in the new video for ‘Zeg Maar Niks’ — Glennis Grace’s latest music video.
The Dutch beauty, who sang for the Netherlands at Eurovision 2005, takes her fans on a personal journey that celebrates her relationship with her father (who even makes a cameo in the video lyrics convey. Tying this release with Father’s Day may have been a smarter move, but perhaps she’s hinting that the strength of their love lasts through all the seasons: “It doesn’t matter what others think, it’s forever me and you…”
‘Zeg Maar Niks’, which translates as ‘Just Say Nothing’ in English, showcases a different side of Glennis. Known in the Netherlands as a Lady of Soul — and for her Whitney Houston covers — Glennis shows a great deal of sensitivity on this record. There’s her home, family and loads of nostalgia. But Miss Grace takes it too far when she jumps on the swing!
We’re more than able to forgive that slight blip. This video has a real homely feel, and makes you feel something despite being low-budget. And whether you speak Dutch of just pretend to, there’s a catchy chorus in tow. We’ll take it no matter what the season.
