It’s all about Topi Latukka in the new music video from Eurovision 2014 act Softengine. Today Finland’s most promising rock group released the video for their song “What if I?”, which is the fourth single taken from their debut album “We Created The World“. The song was written by lead singer Topi  and the keyboardist Henri Oskár (who we recently spoke with on the Eurovision Cruise).

Softengine shot the video themselves and it looks like they were working with a very small budget. As in the song, the music video includes only Topi’s vocals and a piano — all other sounds on the track are makeshift, and include spray paint bottles being clanged together. The video is dark and simple: Topi rocks in a chair, sprays the song’s title on the wall and, of course, sings his heart out in this somewhat unsettling space.

The song was selected as the next single because it’s the most played song from the album after the group’s previous releases “Yellow House” and “The Sirens“. But there’s more to come — the boys say that they want to make a music video for all the songs on the album.

“What If I?” lyrics — Softengine

Our couch is cold, bedsheets are folded
The table is set for two
Your honest soul, so beautiful
I’m wondering where are you

When I close my eyes
I wish I could see you
One more time
In my broken car just
You and I
For one last time
Where you are?

My last night in town and the air is brown
Till I wear again my crown of shame
I turn around and the leaves fall down
I can’t choose the way, every trail looks the same

City fall behind
Mile by mile, sign by sign
What was my lie passes by
Why am I still fine
Maybe I was wrong, when I started this fight
Asking what if I, what if I, what if I

When I close my eyes
I wish I could feel you
One more time
In my broken car just
You and I
For one last time
Where you are?
(What if I)

Maybe memories will keep me alive,
after killing me one too many times.

Where you are?
I know where you are

Still when I close my eyes
I wish I could find you
One more time
In my broken car just
You and I
For one last time
Where you are?
Where you are?

This is perhaps my favourite song from this year I love it so much I listened to it non-stop for bout5 days straight so that maybe why it was the most played song that wasn’t previously a single

I am a really big fan of this band and I think this song is great, like all their other songs!
