With the 60th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest approaching this May, officials at the EBU are working hard to clear the dust off their branding. Over the summer they unveiled a more modern Eurovision logo. And today they revealed the new Eurovision Song Contest Vignette — the 12-second animation that plays before both semi-finals and final, and which is used at the start of national selections. Don’t worry: It’s still set to Charpentier’s Te Deum. In this new animation the microphone-shaped Eurovision winner’s trophy takes centre stage. It’s sleek, sexy and we totally approve!
Eurovision Song Contest Vignette (2015)
Here’s the old one, which premiered way back in 2010.
What do you think of the new vignette? Do you like how prominent the trophy is? Does it feel more modern to you?
I liked better the old trophy.
Again, this will NOT be shown during the ESC finals in May (then it’s time for the usual EBU/Eurovision vignette). This one will only be shown during/before the national selections.
I liked the old one more too but the new one works fine I guess.
Needs to be longer. But otherwise than that, love it!!Glad the trophy is getting credit!
EBU seems to have a lot of money… again a new Vignette?
I prefer the old version.
Also, this vignette will only be used in the national selections. In the ESC semi-finals and final in May, they will show the EBU/Eurovision logo as before, according to the Eurovision Facebook-page. 🙂
Graphics are fine, but they have cut the melody in half! Is that ok? No! Are they that desperate to avoid appearing slow and old?
Eurgh, I much prefer the old one, I liked the use of colour in the last one, but this new one feels so tacky/cheap.
Sorry to be negative!
I’m really excited for Eurovision 2015. I love the host city, theme art, hosts, the new vignette and Czech Republic’s return. (Not EXACTLY proud to admit it. But I’m excited for Prague’s return to ESC.) 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀
I love it. I love the logo and the slogan,I just don’t like the hosts.
I think the old one is much better
@Xepher–the old logo was unveiled at Albania’s selection in December 2010
It’s really nice 🙂
Also the old one didn’t start till 2011, not 2010
Nice! I like it.
One word……………………. AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
