Macedonia’s Eurovision 2008 singer and Skopje Fest 2014 runner-up Tamara Todevska has released the video of her Skopje Fest entry “Brod Sto Tone”. That may mean “Sunken Ship” in Macedonian, but Tamara definitely hasn’t sunk. This song, which many fans thought should have won Macedonia’s national selection, showcases her powerhouse vocals and the emotional depth of the song.
The video takes place in a half-dark room. At first, Tamara Todevska sings under a spotlight, while shadows dance behind her. Those shadows tell the story of a torrid romance. Afterwards Tamara begins to play a piano and a male shadow goes on board a ship while his lover shakes her hand. In the end, the ship sinks and his lover holds her hand up with a flower. #depressing.
This video suggests that Tamara could have brought some dramatic staging to Eurovision if she had been selected. Watching this, do you think that she should have been selected?
This song is an exquisite thing of beauty and her performance was magnificent. It’s everything that Lisja esenski is not, and would have been incredible in Vienna. I hope Daniel gets struck by lightning.
This was a masterpiece.
