On Tuesday Georgian Public Broadcaster GPB announced the five lucky acts who will participate in the national final on January 14. They are: Nina Sublatti, Misha Sulukhia, Eteri Beriashvili, Niutone Band and Edward Meison. GPB will reveal all five of their competing songs on December 31. Ahead of that momentous announcement, we’ll introduce you to each of the acts and give you more of a flavor for their music. Next up is Eter Beriashvili.
Fourty-two-year-old Eteri is a singer, perhaps best-known for participating on The Voice of Russia. Born in Kvareli, her grandfather introduced her to music and she went on to graduate from music school with a specialty in the violin. Among other things, she played bass guitar and sang in a children’s vocal-instrumental ensemble. Eteri is a woman of many talents. She was raised in a family of physicians, and graduated from the Moscow Medical Academy. She also completed a course at the Moscow Estrade and Jazz College, in the faculty of vocals.
She went on to participate in a number of groups including “Cool&Jazzy” and “A’cappella Express”. Cartoon enthusiasts may recognize her voice: she voiced several songs for Disney cartoons in Russia.
At the age of forty-one, Eter decided to participate in the Russian edition of “The Voice”. Her blind audition to the French piece “Tico, Tico” aroused interest from all four judges. She managed to articulate hundreds of syllables in just seconds, proving that know tongue-twister is too much for her!

And here she is tackling Edith Piaf’s classic chanson ”Non, je ne regrette rien”.
Fancy a bit of ABBA? Eteri does ”Mamma Mia”…
What do you think about Eteri? Does she have the voice to sing for Georgia at Eurovision?
