Our Eurovision 2015 calender of events — which includes national selection dates, links to all the live action, and events like Eurovision in Concert and the London Eurovision Party — is filling up fast. Today we add another date: February 28. For on that day Slovenia will stage EMA — it’s selection for Eurovision 2015! RTVSLO made the announcement on their official Facebook page with this simple graphic.
The national final will take place on the same night as national finals in Hungary, Moldova and Lithuania, and the fourth Melodifestivalen semi-final in Sweden.
It’s expected that 12 acts will take place in the contest. RTVSLO will invite six artists, and it will fill the remainder through an open submission / application process. During the televised final, the jury will select the top two songs. They’ll perform again and the televoters will then choose the winner. Let’s call it “curated democracy”.
RTVSLO promises to reveal the acts in the middle of January. Any names you expect to hear? Any dream contestants? Let us know below!
I have a large plethora of Slovene artists I’d like to see at ESC.
Nika Zorjan, Maja Keuc, Nina Puslar, Tina Maze, Eva Boto, and Manca Spik are just a few. 😀
My dream contestant would be Nika Zorjan who placed third in 2012, but I’d also really love to see Maja (the best Slovene entrant ever) back.
