A few weeks ago, after the first round of The Voice of Turkey, Eurovision 2008 singer Elnur Huseynov smashed Turkish YouTube records with his incredible series of performances. Last night he was back in the “Duel” round performing ‘Staying Alive’ by Bee Gees. He really worked his falsetto, showing he is comfortable in extreme registers. Fans will be pleased to learn he won his duel and advanced to the live shows. That’s how you slay.

Elnur was picked by juror Ebru Gundes and she pushed him through this round without any hesitation. Given his momentum, we are pretty sure that Elnur will burn through his competitors en route to the Grand Final. Hype is definitely building around Elnur. Popular Turkish news site acunn.com called Elnur’s performance the most “anticipated moment” of the show.

But Elnur was not the only Eurovision highlight. Host Acun Ilicali praised the judges Hadise, Gökhan Özoguz and MFO, all of whom sang at Eurovision, and even replayed their performances. Hadise didn’t want to watch because she felt really emotional, and Gökhan said, “Eurovision is the proudest moment of my life.”

Duetting with Sertab Erener

After the first round of The Voice, Elnur appeared on Turkish talk show ‘3 Adam’ (3 Men) where he performed Sweet Dreams by the Eurythmics. His duet partner was none other than Eurovision winner Sertab Erener!
