Just as they did last year, Lithuania will once again use its convoluted national selection process to select their representative for Eurovision 2015. And the long road to Vienna kicked off with tonight’s show, which was pre-recorded. Twelve artists introduced themselves and some of them opted to perform their own compositions, while the rest performed an existing Lithuanian hit single. In any event, you can see the full list below, and in the order in which they placed. All 12 participants received feedback from the Lithuanian jury panel based on tonight’s performance. Tadas Juodsnukis has established himself as the early front-runner by beating last year’s runner-up Vaidas Baumila.
Note: Many of you, like us, probably expected these acts to perform covers of international hits by Sia and J. Lo. That’s what Lithuania’s LRT had originally planned. But they made a last minute change and decided to air this episode, featuring local hits, instead.

Lithuanian Jury Panel
Ramunas Zilnys – music reviewer
Edmundas Seilius – opera singer
Audrius Giržadas – LRT Chief Producer
Linas Adomaitis – Lithuania’s 2004 Eurovision representative
No one was eliminated after tonight’s show. So all the points artists received from the Lithuanian juries will be added to the results of the second show.
Last year’s winner Vilija Mataciunaite represented the country at Copenhagen last year. Her entry “Attention” failed to qualify from the semi-final, finishing 11th with 36 points. But she did win the infamous Barbara Dex Award for Worst Costume. At least that’s something?
What did you think of tonight’s show?
@Tal: Old habits are very hard to break, especially the one where they keep doing the same thing and expecting a different result.
Alas, I would consider it a moral victory if they resist the temptation to send another girl in a Judy Jetson outfit! 😛
Lithuania is a bad country
This method always produces such obscure results! Why do they keep doing it over and over again. 2013 was one of my LEAST favorite songs ever!
Even the official Eurovision website got caught out in the process, putting the 2nd show schedule before the start of tonight’s actual introduction show.
This is show 2 performances. You guys really need to get an article writer that’s Lithuanian. I can help you with that ^.^
I got bored after twenty minutes, so I turned it off :p
