Kate Ryan — she who was wronged at Eurovision 2006 — has won the prestigious Eurodanceweb Award for her song “Not Alone.” The French-language track has an infectious beat and an inspirational message, all delivered with Kate’s signature electro-attitude. She beat out 35 other artists from all over Europe and the Meditteranean, including former Eurovision national finalists NeAngely from Ukraine (“Roman”) and Markus Riva from Latvia (“Kugi Aizpeld”). Her victory marks the third time that a Belgian artist has won the contest. If only she could have had the same luck at Eurovision!

This year’s jury consisted of international djs, producers, musicians, journalists and bloggers (including me). I actually ranked Miss Ryan second, but I still love her and her number. (Or, in honour of her Eurovision song, should I say, “Je t’adore”?). You can see the Top 5 and how they fared below.

Belgium: Kate Ryan with “Not Alone” (186 points)

Germany: Italobrothers with “Up’N’Away” (164 points)

France: Indila with the Muttonheads remix of “Dernière danse” (139 points)

Netherlands: Bingo Players with “Knock You Out” (138 points)

Israel: The Young professional Feat. Eva Simons with “Let’s Do It Right” (123 points)

I wonder if she will ever confirm that she was the lead singer of Day One?
