“Supernova” Rules and Dates
Supernova will take place in Riga and will consist of five shows leading up to the final on 22 February 2015. The twenty songs will be cut down to ten, then the third show on the 2nd February will showcase the final ten songs and performers with no eliminations. In the next two shows there will be eliminations. The decision will be made by a professonal panel and the public, and only 4 songs will qualify for the final. During the competition, the jury can reinstate an eliminated song if they believe the song has potential with another artist who is still part of the competition. In that case the jury will replace the competing song with the eliminated one. That’s crazy, y’all!
“The Jury”
This year’s jury is a filled with well-known names like Kaspars Roga, who was the drummer for Latvia’s representative Brainstorm in 2000. Other jurors include Guntars Racs, one of the most popular musicians and composers in the country, and Dons, who participated in last year’s Dziesma and came second. Ieva Kerevica, a singer and vocal coach, rounds the panel.
I feel like “Love Injected” with a little tweeking could be a fantastic entry. But this is Latvia and they don’t have he best track record for choosing a solid entry.
I really liked Aminata last year even though her stage attire was horrendous. Hope she wins this year!
The links are dead
No Samanta Tina 🙁
The problem in the Latvian selection is that even the best song ever composed would be accepted to compete, but the Latvians will always choose the worst entry in their national final. It is almost mathematically sure, since we all have seen what incredible entries they had in the two past editions… and then? what did they decide to send?
The problem with Latvia is that they always choose bad or not-so-good songs out of great songs in their NF. I hope they’ll make the right choice this time, Latvia really needs to make it to the final this year!! Good luck.
i think latvia will advance to the final this year in vienna. and finally no samanta tina or dons
Welcome back, Markus Riva!
