Sunstroke Project, who represented Moldova in 2010 with “Run Away”, made a splash among Eurofans when Epic Sax Guy appeared on the screen. They are widely tipped as favourites to win O melodie pentru Europa 2015 and represent Moldova on the Eurovision stage once more. Interestingly, both their songs were selected and they were asked to choose one on the spot, and they chose “Day After Day”, although the fan favourite was “Lonely”. Only time will tell whether this was the right decision.
Another interesting presence was Asifa Lahore, who donned a black dress and performed her song “You And I” with much gusto. After the show, she told us via Twitter that she was happy to have done it regardless of the result. We are sorry to see that she did not go through.
The Muslim drag queen bonded off-stage with Kitty Brucknell:
Glamorous as ever, Kitty showed up with blue and pink hair and a sexy outfit. Love her or hate her, gurl knows how to work a stage, even at live auditions level. She performed both her songs “Remix” and “Yearning”, but told fans on Twitter that the latter was her favourite. However, it was “Remix” that went through:
Little known Miss M (real name: Anastasia Ursu) made quite an impact on the viewers as well. Her stage presence and song are both worth paying attention to.
The 24 semi-finalists will now battle it out for a place in the final at the end of February. The semi-finals are scheduled on the 24th and 26th of February respectively. The national final has been set for the 28th of February.
