Within a week of opening the submission period for Eurovision 2015 songs, Finland’s state broadcaster YLE received 420 demos. Last week, after throwing out the truly appalling songs and then debating those with potential, it revealed the 18 ditties taking part in Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu (UMK) 2015. The competition kicks off with the first semi-final on February 7 and leads to the grand final, which takes place at YLE’s studios on February 28. But you don’t have to wait until then to let Finland know who you’re loving. Listen to the songs here or down below and then vote in our poll. You can vote for as many songs as you like, but you can only vote one time. The poll will close on February 6, a day before the first heat of the contest.

1. Aikuinen and Opera Skaala
2. Solju and Satin Circus
So bad that Siru is out of the contest.
Crossroads is the only good one.
And it would honestly be something fresh from Finland. They always send rock or candy pop.
All for Victory !!!!!
live performance must be perfect and if is it deserves to win….that voice is the best.
All for victory was my favourite. It made me wanna get up put my lighter up watch a musical and listen to Queen’s back catalogue…in a good way
All for Victory or Mustelmat…Opera Skaala is too chaotic but with good performance and show maybe good…but songs have to have “thing” to win esc and to attract…
MUSTELMAT NEEDS TO WIN !!!!!!!
1 – Eeverest – I’m a sucker for these types of song and I can’t get it out of my head. Absolutely in love with it. 2 – Ida Bois – This sounds so beautiful to me and I don’t know what it is 3 – Opera Skaala – This is so unique and is better than opera singers like Cezar and Malena. It could do really well 4 – Siru – I loved Pernilla back in 2012 and this song reminds me of her but even better. 5 – Satin Circus – I think this is slightly overrated but… Read more »
Very impressed by the level of songs! Finland will be a strong contender and i wouldnt mind going back to Helsinki. With such a strong selection you deserve it. I totally love Siru, Solju, Satin Circus, Jouni and Ida.
Ok, so now Heart of Light is my new favorite in UMK 2015!!! Kumbaya and Mustelmat being tied for 2nd place for me!!!
Satin Circus or Siru. I love them both!
I do also rather like ‘Heart of Light’ but it seems a bit to everywhere everything to work properly.
Oh, how cute. Someone rigged the voting….again -_-
While I don’t hate Heart of Light, I feel like it would not go down to well. It’s good but it’s way too different.
Crossroads would be good but it’s more generic sounding. It could do well
Mustelmat could do very well, it’s not something you hear every day and I’d love to hear a language other than English this year
The problem with Finland is that although some of their songs are good, they’re in Finnish and songs in English generally do better. Out of all these Satin Circus has the best chance to do well, but with all the auto-tune we’ll have to listen to them singing live, to judge if they are good enough.
Skaala’s ‘Heart of Lights’ is a newborn masterpiece of music..No one expect that opera and EDM could be that incredible! If this won, It would place so high in Vienna
Satin Circus or Siru? I choose Satin Circus
My top 3 : Opera Skaala, Satin Circus, Siru
finfan, that’s interesting, but nonetheless the winner of UMK goes to an international competition. American music is everywhere, whereas perhaps Siru’s product isn’t so familiar to the international audience.
People are saying Satin Circus is pretty generic but actially if we follow the Finnish music industry and not American like poeple are weirdly doing, we notice that Siru is generic sample of Finnish music industry (typical pop song in Finnish with young female singer). Siru is great but her song is not outstanding compared to all those bigger names that sing same kind of music. It’s nothing new in Finland.
I’m not sure about Love It All Away. I like the song ,I looove its fresh sound and her voice but there are tons of similar songs nowadays so it’s like my mind doesn’t let me appreciate it enough.
Satin Circus’ Crossroads is basically Owl City + One Direction + Kesha. A typical american boy band song for the radio, nothing more. It doesn’t have the vibe, eurovision vibe if you know what I mean. It would fail so badly because it would attract only younger audience. I’m not saying it’s bad or untypical,it’s UNSUITABLE. “Skaala ft. Cezar” (Romania,2013) that would be a bomb ! They would cause more storm than Conchita 😀 Mustelmat by Siru reminds me so much of Hungary from 2013,the only word you could remember was “kedvesem”. Same here, only one word,”mustelmat”. I love the song,it’s different and… Read more »
“Heart of Light” is a work of art!
Satin Circus, Eeverest and Opera Skaala are my favourites. I’m also torn about Norlan because I don’t usually like reggaeton… but I think it would be amusing to have a song like that representing a country like Finland 😛
SO MANY AMAZING SONGS! My fave keeps changing! 1. Opera Skaala – This is incredible? Such an amazing combination of musics. 2. Ida Bois – This song makes me feel so good and happy and I think it would be represented well on stage at Eurovision! 3. Eeverest – Great song, great vocals…GREAT! 4. Satin Circus – It’s also great, gives my Kesha vibes at some stages but overall I really like it! 5. Jouni Aslak – Another feel good song. Wouldn’t mind if this won! Tbh if any of these won I think Finland would definitely qualify for the… Read more »
Wow, Finland’s selection is outstanding this year. I’m really looking forward to this show!
Siru all the way!!
I feel like Satin Circus is pretty generic…at least for an American 🙂
Big ups to Norlan for submitting a straight-up reggaeton song to UMK. And it’s great.
Satin Circus~~
I also think that Siru is being overrated, it’s just an okay song, feels like it’s missing something
In my opinion, Mustelmat is a bit overhyped. I really think there’s nothing special about it. However my current favourites right now are ‘Love It All The Way’ and ‘Sydän Ei Nuku’, loving both of them and standing out for me from the other entries.
Satin Circus all the way 😀
I like some of the songs, but Mustelmat is definitely the most outstanding.
Siru , Ida Bois or Solju. All of the songs are nice in their own ways , but these 3 are by far my favorites.
Finland did a great job! Well done! Very good and modern songs! But my favourite is Satin Circus! This is the best song from all of them! Their song is very modern! I’m always surprise about the songs this year! I think ESC 2015 will be the most modern ESC ever!
For me TOP 5
1.Opera Skaala – Heart of Light
2.Angelo de Nile – All for Victory
3.Siru – Mustelmat
4.Shava – Ostarilla
5.Jouni Aslak – Lions and Lambs
But I think fight for vicory will be between Siru, Satin Circus ( thank to televote , because we don t have juries this year, without juries they don t have any chance in my opinion for victory), Solju (if finish people choose like in 2010 ) and Norlan “El Misionario” , I think Norlan have most watched clip of all songs in competition.
Satin Circus or Siru!
Hold Your Colors 🙂
I almost like all songs in this NF, this means with exception of “Aina muun pitää”. Finland has got a very strong NF. I´d like to see see Satin Circus, Eeverest, Opera Skaala, Siru or Ida Bois win.
@MTD: My apologies, Otto is added now!
I really love “Love It All Away”, but also I’m a fan of “Mustelmat”, “Hold Your Colours”, “Crossroads”, and “Sydän ei nuku”. “Heart of Light” winning would be my worst nightmare, at least it isn’t as dreadful as Cezar who is my all-time least favourite Eurovision act ever.
Not a fan of the majority of these, but Järjestyshäiriö is bearable.
The ‘Heart of Light’ song is very… colorful. It would make an interesting joke entry, without going too overboard. The Spanish entry is fun as well.
You forgot Otto in your list for voting. Anyway, here’s my vote for him.
Satin Circus or Siru
Opera Skaala or Siru, please!
Satin Circus or Siru!!
Satin Circus, Siru or Solju
i mean hold your colours
heart of light, hold your clours and mustelmat!
