The second host of Eurovision in Concert, Eurovision’s biggest pre-party, has been revealed. Along with Cornald Maas, the event will be co-hosted by Eurovision darling Edsilia Rombley. We take a look at her career and her connection with this year’s Netherlands entry.
Edsilia Rombley at Eurovision
Edsilia Rombley is a real Eurovision veteran. She first participated in the contest in 1998 where she finished an impressive fourth place. She returned to our beloved contest in 2007 but unfortunately couldn’t reach the final. This year the rumour mill suggested she might participate as part of Ladies of Soul, but in the end Trijntje chose to go solo.
But that’s not the only connection with Trijntje. Edsilia is married to Trijntje’s brother Tjeerd, and the sisters-in-law have been known to perform together. There’s a lot of love between these two divas, which is sure to make this year’s Eurovision in Concert extra special.
Eurovision in Concert
Eurovision in Concert started in 2009 and in just a few years has grown to become a massive party and an essential part of the build-up to Eurovision. Last year the team from wiwibloggs was there and brought you lots of interviews with your favourite Eurovision stars, and of course we will be there again this year. The concert will be in Amsterdam on the 18th of April, with the first confirmed country being Albania. There are less than 100 tickets still available, so if you love Edsilia, you’d better hurry up!
