Cyprus’ Eurovision Song Project, the national selection that lasted longer that the Olympics, has finally come to an end. The final gave us mind-blowing performances, wonderful duets and lots of humour. But the most important thing is that it finally gave Cyprus its Eurovision 2015 singer. Giannis Karagiannis will sing “One thing I Should Have Done” in Vienna!

COMBINED RESULTS
1) Giannis Karagiannis – “One Thing That I Should Have Done”
2) Panagiotis Koufogiannis – “Without Your Love”
5) Doody – “Magic”
6) Nearxos Evangelou and Charis Savva – “Deila Den Agapo”
What do you think of the results? Did the best act win? Do you think Cyprus has a strong shot of making the final (given that the second semi is full of smaller nations)? Let us know in the comments box below!
I like “The One Thing I Should Have Done”. It may not be popular with the kids (they get bored so easily) but there will be grown-ups who will appreciate the sadness in the song. It is quite beautiful.
This is NOT the song that ACTUALLY won! It paid for it’s votes! CyBC had in the rules only 10 votes per phone but then left the phones open for a week to vote as many times as they like. So the man with the most money that paid for its own votes, won. MINUS ONE are the ones that ACTUALLY won! Everyone who ACTUALLY voted, voted for them. No one in Cyprus likes this song so who are the 20,000 votes that this song supposedly got? This is bullshit Cyprus….. It should be automatically disqualified. I am sure that… Read more »
bye bye Cyprus
I’m glad it’s not “Without Your Love”, but I’m SHOCKED that “Deila Den Agapo” came last. I love this song, and I hate that all countries choose English songs…
Well, the winning song is just way too boring. I hoped for a climax at the end but it’s just three minutes the same… It might grow on me a little, though. But I think Cyprus won’t qualify this year.
this is by far the most forgettable song of the lot!, atm even without greece i think this is coming last in the semi.
I really hope Hovig will win but I don’t like this song they selected! Too boring for me! Sorry for Cyprus! But at JESC 2014 they were amazing so my hope was really high! So my top9 is now:
1.The Netherlands
2.Georgia
3.Malta
4.FYR Macedonia
5.Switzerland
6.Belarus
7.Albania
8.Cyprus
9.France
maybe song not at first listen but still boring
Imo, in order to qualify he should change his look. shave that moustache, remove his glasses and put more emotion in the lyrics. Then it can qualify
I feel sorry for Cyprus, mostly for Sophia Patisdales because she was wronged and the Junior Eurovision and now this.
All the songs were horrible except for Deila den agapo. Why, Cyprus, WHY
This song goes absolutely no where for me. And it makes me sad because Cyprus was in my top five the last two times they competed, and this year I feel like they’ll be in my bottom five.
Its a beautiful song. Reminds me of Et Uus Saaks Alguse which I liked a lot. Like Birgit I think Gianni can make the final but not to expect left side of the table. Simple songs like this dont often score too high but if they are positioned between more upbeat ones they can shine in their own way.
I can see he’s going for a Silent Storm approach with this song entry but I’m not sure how well this will do. It hasn’t grown on me yet..
It’s a lovely song, but it’s far too simple to get far from last place in its semi.
It’s a shame, because I actually kind of like it as a song outside the contest. But acts like Hovig, the duet, or Minus One were really the only chances at the final. Really weird how all the trials and tribulations of the Eurovision Song Project just culminated in a basic ballad.
@Paul – you’re absolutely right. “Time” is by far the most contemporary and multifaceted entry among the 9 entries so far. It’s a huge step for Belarus and should definitely pay off.
@HELENA I watched the livestream for almost
3 hours and I when I saw the results I shouted the longest “nooooooo” in my life
With every national selection Belarus is receiving a greater chance to be in final.
I agree with many of those posting here….OK singer, boring song. Cannot see how this will make it to final, especially without Greece in same semi! My clear choice was “Deila Den Agapo” which somehow ended up last…weird.
Is it a lullaby ? Children’s music ?christmas song ? Sound like a Godnight song Zzzzzz sleep well Cyprus! Godnight!
Olga, don’t ever say that this year is a weak year. Well, you could only say that if all the songs are being revealed. We’re not even half yet. So, even your opinion is VERY WRONG!!!
so -.- 3 months of auditions for this …..i’m not having this, call Ivi Adamou quick
LO DIGO CLARAMENTE EN ESPAÑOL MEJOR, QUE PENA QUE TENIAN 3 CANCIONES DE MUY BUENA CALIDAD, QUE HASTA ENCHANABAN LA PIEL Y VINIERON ESCOGIENDO SEGUN ELLOS EL CARISMA, TODOS LOS PAISES ESTAN ESCOGIENDO RARESAS O UNA COPIA MAS DE MALTA QUE FUE LA PRIMERA, ESPERO MUCHO DEL 60 ANIVERSARIO PERO CREO QUE NO IGUALARAN A LAS 3 ULTIMAS GENIALES EDICIONES.
@Dhani: I definitely don’t agree with that idea… Magic sounds like something the members of One Direction would have sung if they had been a group when they were 8 years old.
Oh why… WHY ON EARTH THEY WOULD CHOOSE THIS OVER HOVIG AND PANAGIOTIS???
So sorry for Cyprus u_u
@ME…LUCY…I TOTALLY AGREE…I DON’T KNOW WHY WAS THE LAST ONE….MAGIC WAS BETTER? LOL JURIES!!
Say goodbye to final Cyprus! You had a chance to get high position with Hovig or Minus One but you absolutely ruined it. So you are in my Non-Qualifier list
Will be on final:
1. Georgia
2. FYR Macedonia
3. Belarus
4. Albania
5. The Netherlands
6. Malta
Will not qualified or be on final with low result:
7. Switzerland
8. Cyprus
9. France
So boring, hope this will not qualify :/
Can someone explain how on earth Deila Den Agapo finished last ? BEST LYRICS,BEST MELODY,BEST VOICES,BEST CHOREOGRAPHY…What is happening??? Albania,France,Switzerland and now Cyprus, they all chose trash.
I hope Iceland,Finland and Norway will choose my favourites,I’m becoming anxious.
Cute song, which will do a lot better than most people predict. This is the kind of song that can easily surprise on the night, like the Netherlands last year. Do not right this one off yet. Not my winner though….
Shine by far the best …
1.Malta
2.The Netherlands
3.Switzerland
4.Albania
5.France
6.Cyprus
7.Georgia
8.Belarus
9.F.Y.R Macedonia
Is composer wrote cyprus entry in 2004 .
A great disaster for Cyprus..They had the chance but they left it…Jury wanted Panagiotis as not a winner…That’s why they voted like that!a big shame..
At this point, I’m kinda worried with the number of “toilet breaks” that I would probably take considering elected entries and their quality.
Booooooooooooooooooooooring.
Malta move over, I have a new least favourite.
I really like it. It’s a quiet power. It also reminds me of “Kedvesem” which I loved and I think that it can also have the same success. I believe that it can make the final easily and even get a decent placing. Songs like this are successful in the latest years. I am quite happy with the result. My first choice was “Stone In A River” and I had this one 5th from the 6 finalists, yet I did still like it. After his performance he climbed all the way to 2nd, and I believe that says much about… Read more »
Mark it right now. This will be a Top 15 finishers. The one dimensional commenters on this board always underestimate the understated. Bye Alex, Tom Dice, Gianluca Bezzina all did quite well and this one will also. Most of the viewers who only turn in for the contest will like the contrast between this and the others and will select it. Great and surprising choice Cypress.
Alex, the jury ranked Doody over Panagiotis because Doody’s song was catchy, fun and enjoyable. And at least Doody had some charisma compared to Panagiotis serious and boring clicheed snoozefest.
FINAL = Yes, please!
WINNER = Could be 🙂
1) Malta
2) Switzerland
3) FYR of Macedonia
That;s it
Yawnfest. Goes to the bottom of my rankings.
I’ve tried to listen to this one but it just goes nowhere, not a fan. I can’t see this qualifying.
1- Georgia – 10/10
2- Macedonia – 9/10
3- Switzerland – 9/10
4- Belarus – 8/10
5- Albania – 7/10
6- Netherlands – 6/10
7- Malta – 5/10
8- France – 3/10
9- Cyprus – 3/10
Since Ioanna Protopapa missed out on a place in the final, Cyprus would’ve ended up bottom of my Eurovision list regardless of tonight’s result.
I missed “Dawn” and “Right In” in the final six, but this one was the best of the finalists, for me. I quite like it, it’s nice, and I think it’ll have a decent chance of making it to the Eurovision final, maybe even the top 15. 🙂
Well…that’s one country we can put on the Not Qualifying list.
Look. None of the songs were Eurovision worthy but at least he was able to nail a live performance. Safe to say it’s not Cyprus’s year this year..
Boring… what a weak year 2015
Sleeping pill.
OMG no
DEILA DEN AGAPO WAS THE LEAST FAVOURITE SONG OF THE CRITICS?….JESUS…SO DISSAPOINTED OF THE CRITIC RESULTS….THE WINNING SONG WILL NOT MAKE ANY SENSE IN THE EUROVISION…NOT FINAL THIS YEAR FOR CYPRUS UNFORTUNATELY!
