Prior to yesterday’s national final for Eurovision in Switzerland, Timebelle seemed poised for the win. They won our jury, they won our poll, and they had received an extremely positive reception from almost everyone. They ultimately placed second to a song that some of our readers have described as a mediocre and clichéd ballad.
All is not lost, however. Like Kitty Brucknell, Timebelle still has a shot at sending their song to Eurovision after being rejected by Switzerland. As three of its members (singer Miruna, bassist Sandor, and saxophonist Emanuel, along with producer Mihai) are Romanian, they will most likely apply to compete in Romania’s national selection for Eurovision 2015!
Mihai had the following exchange with a Eurofan in Romania, which has led us to believe they will in fact submit their song to Selectia Nationala.
“I guess we will [send this to Selectia Nationala]. We finished second. It’s great.”
The original conversation with Timebelle’s producer, in Romanian
Romania’s national selection for Eurovision 2015 closes its submission period next Sunday. It’s open to international acts, which clears the way for Timebelle to compete. The final will take place on March 8 in Craiova’s Sala Polivalenta.
Do you think Timebelle should try again in Romania? Would they be successful there?
Update 04.02: Timebelle have announced, via Facebook, that they have decided not to enter Selectia Nationala after all.
@PP: D’oh! My bad. So many national qualifiers happening right now, but I don’t always follow them all.

@Alex: Not only does it happen in the world of entertainment, but it also happens in sports. In boxing, if you can’t win a world championship, drop a weight class or move up, especially if you think you can beat the guys in those classes. Here in New York State, we have HIGH SCHOOLERS transferring from one school to another because of the coach’s reputation for making champions. Most people look upon this concept as “taking the backdoor route to victory” and frown upon it. But if Timebelle think they can qualify for the ESC from a different country (like… Read more »

Almost wanna find out wether Beatrees have any romanian roots LOL, cause I loved them! they deserved to win in Belarus -_-‘ or Milki…
I have a great idea. Next year to offer to any national broadcaster, for example, in Belarus, to change the rules of the national selection and collect to own selection all talents from Europe who have not passed national selection. 100% will be the winner of Eurovision Song Contest. 🙂
Is in Romania have rules for national final, that you can submit song from another selection, or published before time to submit song in romania selection…

I’m less about the competition and more about having a brilliant final. Singing About Love needs to be in the final to make it a great show. If it gets beat by a better song in Romania so be it.

Yes, absolutely. The more I think about Switzerland’s national selection, the more I’m convinced that Switzerland made a mistake. Timebelle are able performers – if the contest permitted live instruments, they would stick out even more over the other ESC entrants. The lead singer’s great, they’re creative. Seeing that creativity, I’ve warmed up to Singing About Love since it was first released myself. Besides, may I remind everyone that such a thing has been done before with success – Anastasiya Prykhodko submitted her song to Russia’s national final after being disqualified from Ukraine’s in 2009. She won in Russia and… Read more »

come on, when you lose you should deal with it with pride, try to become greater, write an even better song and work on a new killer staging.
Don’t submit for Romania’s selection, it just stinks. And what if you lose there again? Would you finally be able to accept defeat this year or would you, like, write to BBC to let you represent freaking UK?

@ESC 4ever One problem that in this case Timebelle must change the song (ESC Rules)
Maybe! I really want that timebelle enter the competition! I hope so..
@YoungsterJoey Rybak already rested and with him everything is fine now 🙂 He makes a video with Milki, and wrotes a new song for them.
So, we’re going to treat Romania as the second-chance NF? lol
Bring on MILKI! (It may un-depress Rybak).
