Rumours are swirling in Greece that the national selection Eurosong 2015 – a MAD show will take place in early March, just before the deadline set by the EBU for the countries to select their representatives. This means that the country that invented souvlaki and marbles without arms (as Pilou would say) will be one of the last to decide. And while we will have to wait to know which act will sing at ESC, we may already know the five acts who will be competing at home. Eurovision insider and Greek journalist Katerina Soulioti tells Greece’s Star Channel that Tamta, Shaya, Dionisis Schinas, C:real, and Thomai Apergi will battle for the win. Let’s get to know them — just in case she’s right!
She took part at the Greek NF in 2007 with the song “With Love” but didn’t manage to win. She’s very popular in Greece, especially for her modern outfits. A native of Georgia, she’s a coach on the Georgian edition of X Factor so could count on 12 points from Tbilisi.
She is young, fresh and popular. In 2011 Shaya was shortlisted along with Mark F. Angelo as Best European Act at the MTV Music Awards, after winning the title of best Greek act with “Far From Anything”. If she goes to Vienna, Greece will enjoy 12 points from Denmark, as she was born there.
A great Greek singer, he took part in the Greek NF in 1998 but failed to win. Dionisis made a successful comeback last summer with the hit “Omorfaineis Ti Zoi Mou”.
They are a Greek band with many singles and albums to their name. The band follows pop and rock music, and co-operated with Oceana for “Sleepness Nights”.
