Valentina Monetta made her Eurovision debut in 2012 singing about social media. A year later, she went through her own transformation but agonizingly missed out on a place in the final. But in 2014 it was finally third time lucky for San Marino’s Eurovision veteran. So we weren’t surprised to read in the Eurovision blogosphere recently that the “Maybe” singer had reportedly been confirmed as the person who will read this year’s points. There’s just one issue: No one has told Valentina.
In a phone call with wiwibloggs this afternoon, San Marino’s biggest pop export said that SMRTV has not approached her in a formal or even an informal capacity with the offer of reading this year’s points. That said, she is touched by all the congratulatory messages she has been receiving from fans.
Naturally, we’d be shocked if she didn’t read out the points. But apparently it’s a bit premature to say that anything is official.
Valentina Monetta made Eurovision history last year by becoming the first ever San Marinese representative to reach the Grand Final, eventually finishing 24th with 14 points.
Former Junior Eurovision representatives Michele Perniola from 2013 and Anita Simoncini, one fifth of last year’s girl group The Peppermints, will be flying the flag for San Marino as a duet in Vienna this year.
Their entry have yet to be revealed, but they have already been busy filming their Eurovision postcard with ORF recently. San Marino will perform somewhere on the first half of the Second Semi-Final, which takes place on 21st May.

I knew it all along before the Eurovision 2015 season kicks off that Valentina would be a results spokesperson if she does make her return this year. And it’s only going to take a minute or two Charles should it eventually be confirmed as expected.

Can you imagine if like she was selected to take part as participant again and we already knew her song and when we contacted her she would be like…ME?? What song..?? And how is MY song is called ..?? 😛 hahaha 😛 ;))
