Nikki Kavanagh is one of the five finalists in Ireland’s Eurosong 2015. Or at least that seems to be the case if a leaked Instagram image is to be trusted.

Earlier today, the Evan Doherty Photography studio posted the below image to Instagram. Not only does it suggest that Nikki will participate in Ireland’s Eurovision selection, it also states that Eurosong will take place on the Late Late Show at the end of the month.

The full description reads:

Shooting the beautiful Nikki Kavanagh this morning for this years Eurosong taking place at the end of the month on the Late Late! A Glenda/Jessie-J hybrid”.

Unless the photographer is getting her mixed up with someone else (unlikely), it means that Nikki Kavanagh is back! She last competed in Eurosong 2011, losing out to Jedward.

According to internet rumours, RTÉ will reveal all five acts on Monday next and confirm that the selection will take place on 28 February. However, when wiwibloggs got in touch, the Press Office responded:

We’ll be making an announcement in coming days. Not confirming any details yet.

For now it looks like it’s a case of wait and see. But will this latest development force RTÉ to reveal more information?

And back to the music, are y’all excited to see Nikki Kavanagh return?

“JEDWARD nearly won it for Ireland in 2011” … errrmmm … I hardly think coming 8th and some 102 points behind the winner can be classed as nearly winning it 😉 But … good luck to Ireland for this year and a good selection process 🙂

I agree with you Darren. I hope to see Dublin host Eurovision in 2016 (Or eventually.). Even if that was our last ever victory. I believe that RTE can revive their fortunes and make Ireland a serious threat in the Eurovision Song Contest. But Eurosong is DEFINITELY on the 27th February. Sorry to be so blunt. But that doesn’t mean we can’t win it. Despite me rotting people’s brains with my plans for a new Eurovision qualifier. JEDWARD nearly won it for Ireland in 2011 and Eurosong was on the Late Late Show and HAD the 5 mentor system in… Read more »

Seriously hoping RTE put some effort into the selection process this year. I am happy that the stupid mentor system is gone and members of the public where able to submit entries, as there is a lot of unnoticed talent out there.
I hope 2015 is the year Ireland return to the top 10 and become a powerhouse once more. I would love to see Eurovision hosted in Dublin eventually, even if it never won ever again afterwards, because I was too young to remember Dublin 97

If it’s the 28th of February then it won’t be on The Late Late (thank the Lord!). Wait…that means RTE will probably shunt it over to The Saturday Night Show instead. Honestly wouldn’t surprise me if that happened.

Come on RTE, tell us who is in Eurosong 2015. We might have a winner in our midst. So just tell us. >___<

YESS!!!! Absolutely loved falling and really wanted it to represent Ireland that year and I know that it wouldn’t of done well as JEDWARD did but I loved it and wouldve preferred if they sent her in 2011
