Spanish Eurofans have at least one reason to be happy. On tonight’s grand final of The Hit/ La Canción, they can feast their eyes (and ears) on three former Eurovision contestants. (Auryn, a fourth participant, attempted to reach the festival in 2011). Although this year’s edition of The Hit hasn’t reached its expected ratings, the chosen songs have clinched the top spots on iTunes week after week.

Rosa López “Me da igual”

Rosa López: “Europe is living a Celebration” (2002). She chose “Me da igual”. With its very optimistic lyrics and Rosa’s impressive vocals, the song jumped to No. 1 in sales on iTunes and will be one of the singles from the new album that will be released this year.

Sergio Dalma “Atrévete”

Pastora Soler

Pastora Soler: “Quédate Conmigo” (2012). As you’ll remember, her participation in the show coincided with her worsening stage fright, which ultimately forced her to put a temporary stop on her career. To add more drama, the song she chose in the contest was disqualified because it had been previously been published, breaking the rules of the competition. We will have to wait until the Final to see what song she ultimately chose to sing. We know that it will be produced by Tony Sanchez Ohlson, the composer of “Quédate Conmigo” and “Amanecer”, as he confirmed to wiwibloggs on Twitter.

Do you think one of the former Eurovision stars can win the show?
