Team Wiwi was sitting on the edge of its chair again last night as the second night of Sanremo 2015 took place. Full of both Eurovision and Sanremo alums, we were more than satisfied to hear multiple songs that could represent Italy (and represent it well) in Vienna.

Sanremo isn’t just unique for its songs: its also unique for its scoring system, which keeps fans guessing. At the end of the show the judges reveal the Top 6 acts and the Bottom 4 acts. However, the acts are presented randomly so you don’t know their precise placement within their group. Anything is still possible as the festival continues. Even so, for the bottom 4 we are left saying “Che triste!”. So who’s up and who’s down? Read on…

Sanremo “New Artists”

Before the “Big Artists” sang their songs, four of the eight up-and-coming artists competed for two of the spots in the “New Artists” final, to be held on Friday. The two lucky singers were KuTso with “Elisa”, and Enrico Nigiotti with “Qualcosa da decidere”.

Tonight’s show will feature the twenty big artists singing their songs. Once again, there will not be any eliminations. Four more new artists will compete, of which two will progress onward.

If Il Volo go on to win Sanremo, they can win Eurovision. Magnificent song and performance.

I thought Nek was the best option for Italy this year but I don’t know what to think after hearing Il Volo’s song… They were just WOW.
