Tonight it was time for Finns to decide the next three finalists for UMK 2015. Six artists performed, but only half of them made it to the February 28 final. Finnish televoters decided to send Shava, Opera Skaala and Jouni Aslak to the final. That means, Otto Ivar, Siru and Eeverest had to say goodbye.
We let out a massive WTF when we heard the results. Both wiwibloggs readers and the Wiwi Jury wanted the same three songs – “Mustelmat” by Siru, “Heart Of Light” by Opera Skaala and “Love It All Away” by Eeverest – to reach the final. However, only one of them, Opera Skaala, made it.

@Daniel: I’m also hoping for Hold Your Colours to win. But I’ve been hoping for that even before Siru got eliminated… 🙂
I thought “Mustelmat” was by far the song to win UMK until she performed it. To me this was the biggest disappointment since Ovi’s round piano. It was Siru’s for the winning and the staging killed the song. Awkward dance movements and smiling? That doesn’t match the video that everyone went crazy over!
I’m already over Siru. She had a nice song, but the live performance just fell flat.
Opera Skaala, on the other hand, slaaaaaaaayed it! I hope she or Satin Circus ends up winning, even though the general public seems to favor Shava and PKN for god knows what reason.
I never got the hype about Siru. The song was boring and she is not a very good singer. Like Maarit said, a dime in dozen. AND the performance was horribly uncomfortable. The lyrics and the performance didn’t mach at all. I was a bit disappointed that Eeverest didn’t qualify. She was nervous on the stage and that was obvious, but she has a wonderful voice. What an excellent song, and so well sung. It’s a pity it didn’t get through to the final. Siru is fantastic.
The fact that SIRU isn’t in the final has made me cry! Way to go Finland. I hate it now. My favourite ever song is out. I’m now hoping for Hold Your Colours to win. Finland if you don’t send that, you are dead to me. How could you even let the bhangra trough?

Finland is still one of the favorites to win on betting odds, so the bookies expect them to send KPM :S

Opera Skaala is not the best for Eurovision also. I think that Pertti Kurikan or Satin Circus will represent Finland in Vienna
I think Siru’s song was too “ordinary” for us. You hear songs like that every day from the radio, and they sound “stronger” than Siru’s song. Her live performance was also pretty bland, a disappointment… and in Finnish. Many people thought the lyrics were annoying. Ok, Shava is in Finnish too, and the lyrics are kind of annoying, but you can barely understand what they are saying, so maybe that doesn’t count? I have listened to Siru’s song once but don’t remember a thing about it. It may be a good song but it left no impression on the first listen; that’s important because a song may not get a second chance. Very interesting to read the Finnish comments here.
Eeverest’s song was terrible. I’m glad I have heard the last of it.

Wooooooooooow how did Siru fail to qualify? I just watched her performance. Her moves weren’t good, but who cares? She sounded better than a lot of the singers who have made it to Eurovision for this year, and her song is wonderful. Ugh!!!!! Finland, why???? Shava… oh man, the lead singer missed every single note for the first minute and a half of the performance. That was definitely a Milan Stankovic moment for Finland. Both my Mother and I reviewed this semi-final together. Here are our notes as follows: 1. Siru: I thought the song was powerful but the performance lacked vocal tuning and was choreographically a bit boring. My Mum couldn’t stand her singing, but she liked the song. 2. Shava: I can’t stand this song. [Next…] My Mum thought they were experimenting with a Bollywood-style sound except it had no ‘cool factor.’ We both can’t understand how this qualified. 3. I missed the show, but I’m sorry to hear that Siru’s performance wasn’t good (according to you folks anyway) – she had a wonderful song. I’ll check it out later. In the meantime, I’m happy that Shava qualified.
Siru’s performance was so bad, like the song was good, but I think it all went down to the performance, wich clearly shows that they should’ve done more effort in it

Finland’s just ruined my Valentine’s night for not sending Siru into the final. And now for that possible awkward moment Opera Skaala gets picked while Italy goes for Il Volo…
Wasn’t a massive fan of muselmat to be honest it just felt choppy and ended weirdly. I want crossroads for Vienna as I feel it has the wider appeal
Disappointed that Siru’s not in the final, though I was more disappointed by her stage act. The three that qualified did have the strongest stage performance/camera work IMO, especially Shava.
I was thinking about Siru not qualifying earlier today, but I just laughed it away, cause I was sure she would pass.
But this is awful! I have a feeling that this going to be a bad eurovision year, because nearly every country is choosing wrong things.
Also Finland we can scrap from the qualifying list. But still good luck to them though.

Siru was by far the best. It would’ve been my favourite, if it had gone to Vienna. But seriously Finland has just made their biggest mistake eever.
I’m Finnish. To me, Siru’s song was average and the lyrics were a bit weird and off-putting. That’s probably one reason why Finns didn’t want to vote for Siru, we are hyper-aware of what other countries think of us so to have a song that’s first of all in Finnish AND sings about not wanting to have children or not crying in funerals would’ve been just straight off the “we’re an embarrassment to Europe”-scale. Finland just made one of their biggest mistakes ever. They’re easily gonna have one of the weakest finals I’ve ever seen as I still don’t like one song that’s still competing. Järjestyshäiriö is my last hope for them.
