Don’t worry: the rumbles you hear coming from up north do not signal another eruption from Eyjafjallajökull. It’s merely the sound of Iceland’s Eurovision hopefuls warming up for tonight’s final of Söngvakeppni Sjónvarpsins 2015! They’ve got powerful voices, and a few of them have powerful songs to go with them.

Since January 30 we’ve received a total of 883 votes in our poll, “Who should win Söngvakeppni Sjónvarpsins 2015?” It was close at the top, but María Ólafsdóttir has won with her song “Lítil skref” (Unbroken). She earned 146 votes, or around 17% of all those cast. That put her just nine votes ahead of the duo Sunday with their song “Fjaðrir” (Feathers). It’s sweet and inspirational versus mysterious and avant-garde. And we like it that way!

You can review the complete results below. What do you think?  Is it a two-horse race as our readers suggest? Are these the top two songs? Let us know in the comments box below.

You can read our interview with Maria here.

I’m from Iceland and I really hope she wins! I’m gonna vote for her. But I’m afraid that Friðrik Dór will win just because of his popularity, all 14 years old and younger girls will vote for him

Dear Eurovision God, please let María or Elín win and go to Vienna, not Friðrik!!!

Daniel – are those the same people who wanked “I Feed You My Love” all the way to the top 5?

I’d like Sunday to win. I’m still sad Stefanía didn’t reach the final, and angry that the trash that is ‘Milljon Augnablik’ got the wildcard instead of her.

She will suffer the same fate in Vienna that Estonia did in 2011.
It’s just a grown up version of a Junior Eurovision entry.

Hahahahaha, FOOLS! Do you really think you can defeat Friðrik Dór that easily? Right now it’s between him and María, SUNDAY is just a pipe dream of the Margaret-Berger wankers.
