You thought that last Super Saturday was exhausting? Well, sorry: we have to do it all over again tonight with another seven national selections! You can follow all of the action on wiwibloggs (and our Twitter @wiwibloggs) all night. To get you ready for another action-packed night, here’s a quick run down of what’s happening, when it’s on and how to watch.

Super Saturday Schedule 14 February 2015

ICELAND: SONGVAKEPPNIN 2015 FINAL

iceland songvakeppnin 2015 eurovision

Iceland are becoming a fixture of the grand final, and they’ll be hoping for much the same when they make their selection in the final of Songvakeppnin. The songs will be performed in the language that we’ll hear in Vienna, which means that the Wiwi Jury and poll favourite Maria Olafsdottir will perform “Unbroken” — and not “Litil Skref”. Will a switch in language help or harm her chances?

The show will start at 20:45 CET and promises to be a two hour-plus extravaganza!

ITALY: SAN REMO FESTIVAL

Festival di Sanremo 20151

The yearly marathon that is the San Remo Festival comes to a conclusion tonight, as Italy choose their winner, who will sing for Italy at Eurovision (though we won’t know if their winning song will also feature at the contest). The show will start at 19:35 CET and it’s fair to say that we don’t have any idea how long it will go on for. The Italians are rather lax about timekeeping with these shows…

SWEDEN: MELODIFESTIVALEN SEMI-FINAL TWO

melodifestivalen-generic-logo1

Sweden’s Melodifestivalen kicked off last week and immediately caused controversy when a voting app seemed to eliminate some of the more popular songs. Let’s hope the same issues won’t cause problems for the seven acts performing this week. Among them is Melfest 2014 breakout star Linus Svenning and #melfest veteran Magnus Carlsson. You can watch thirty second snippets of this week’s songs ahead of the live show at 20:00 CET.

ESTONIA: EESTI LAUL SEMI-FINAL TWO

Eesti_Laul_2015_logo

There will be a lot of eyes on Estonia tonight, as the bookies’ favourites to win the entire Eurovision Song Contest take part in their nation’s semi-final. Elina Born and Stig Rasta will sing “Goodbye to Yesterday” alongside nine other acts, with five spots up for grabs. You can see all the action from 20:35 CET. Ahead of that you can listen to all of the songs here and you can also read the comments of our Wiwi Jury here.

LITHUANIA: EUROVIZIJOS NACIONALINE ATRANKA

lithuania eurovizijos

Eurovizijos has nearly reached its conclusion — thank god — and that means it’s the first of its two finals tonight. This time, it’s the decision to be made as to which song will be performed in Vienna, before the winning artist is selected next week. If you can wrap your head around this concept, you can see it all unfold at 20:00 CET.

At the moment, our readers want to hear Vaidas Baumila sing “This Time” above all others. Do you agree with that combo? Vote in our poll!

HUNGARY: A DAL, FIRST SEMI FINAL

DAL_2014_LOGO_RGB

We’ve already got down to 18 acts in Hungary and there’s set to be even more songs cast aside by the end of the night, as the first semi final takes place. Boggie was the jury’s favourite last week, but can she keep that going as she performs for the second week in a row? Find out at 20:25 CET! You can also see how the Wiwi Jury has rated all of the songs so far here.

Live stream: here. Then you should go to ELO and choose M1.

FINLAND: UUDEN MUSIIKIN KILPAILU SEMI-FINAL TWO

Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu UMK 2015 Juries Finland Eurovision 2015

Finally, it’s UMK! Last week saw two bands of very different natures compete, as boyband Satin Circus took on disabled rockers Pertti Kurikan Nimipaivat. Can Siru or any of the other acts this week take the spotlight? You can listen to all of the acts taking part here. We’ve also done a lot of interviews with the UMK contestants and you can see them all on our YouTube channel. The second semi-final will start tonight at 20:00 CET.

This is why I don’t watch ‘American Idol’ anymore. I wish we had a competition like this in the Americas and the islands nearby. The people who run these national competitions seem to know what they’re doing. The people who run ‘Idol’ in the U.S. have long forgotten; and that is why no one has had any real significant post-competition success in 7 years.

I’d love to watch all of these national semis and finals, but I’ll settle for delayed/recorded broadcast. My love of track is greater, and I’ll be watching that live.
